Anyone know why I can't comment on threads and instead just get a 400 Bad Request page? I'm using Chrome on a Windows 10 Dell laptop btw

It's a known problem with Stormtroopers.

They only hit 5% of targets they aim at.

"Bad request" means the server is receiving garbage from your browser. Unless anyone else is seeing the same thing, I'd suggest it's a problem at your end.

Reboot and try again, if that doesn't help, try a malware scan.

Curious that you can't comment on threads but can start them...?

I am using a company laptop so I wonder if it is a security/firewall issue...

Could well be.

If you can't comment on threads, how are you managing to reply on this one?

Mmm, seems it is fine with shorter single line posts but not longer multi-line ones? Odd...

The beer one was a test.

I have also managed to post on the 'Orsum old stuff' thread, which is what highlighted this issue, but only after I reduced the number of lines of what I was trying to post...

For example, it wouldn't let me post the above until I reduced the number of characters. I also removed some brackets (I wonder if it is anything to do with the brackets?)

Nope, nothing to do with brackets..!

I guess I'll just have to keep any posts short and sweet!

Thanks for the responses (helpful or otherwise ๐Ÿ˜† )

Email me a copy of a post that fails, I'll see if I can work it out.

Ah! So when you type a long reply it fails to post and comes up with a 404 error but a short reply allows you to post without an error.

If we can find the cause then we may inject into certain forum members accounts. ๐Ÿ˜†

"This is what I tried to post originally on the 'Orsum old stuff' thread which I got the first 400 Bad request page from:

Great thread (even if it is making me feel old)

I seem to remember from my Uni dissertation on Japanese product design that Sony engineers were tasked with making the original portable transistor radios small enough to fit in their uniform pockets. They couldn't quite get the radios small enough so they just made their pockets a bit bigger

If this post works i'm going to scream ha ha"

... so it's nothing in the body text, then.

How bizarre.

Try a force refresh that clears cache.

Shift + F5 on windows.
