I've been spoilt this week, due to someones birthday and someone else going on holiday we've had cakes in the office fridge all week and someone had to eat them. So far this week i've munched,

    – Strawberry jam and white chocolate cup cake.
    – Custard slice
    – 2 x choclate cup cakes
    – slice of chocolate bownie cheesecake

Worst thing is no commutes this week so all that is going straight on my hips. And it's looking like cheese, bickies and a bottle of red for tea tonight.

If that lot adds up to something around 3500cals, how far do i need to go on the bike to work that off ?

    25-30 miles.

Life is too short to pass on cake though.

Most of the information about cycling I've seen lately seems to say that you burn off roughly about 700cal per hour for a medium intensity ride – so a bit more than 25-30 miles unless you are riding very slowly, in which case it'll also be a lot more than 25 – 30 miles.

(Obviously it depends on your weight, type of riding, etc. But basically you'll be on your bike for most of Saturday afternoon…….)

I could manage that in a day. Poor effort really 😈
