Damn it. New pads, bled brake but forgot to zip tie hose. First big compressions hose went into front wheel. Looks like the caliber has leaked slightly from where it attaches to caliper (is this knackered or just a new hose?)

Lots of noise and little stopping. Can I rescue pads? And tips on how to clean the rotor?

    Is annoyed!

Bin the pads, brake & clutch cleaner for the rotor!

Bin the pads, washing-up liquid and hot water rinse is fine for the rotor.

Probably bin the pads, but I’ve had success using a blowtorch on sintered pads that had been tainted with something.

You can try boiling both, then sand the pads, if that fails yes new pads.

Bit of IPA on them then set fire to them.
Wash them off/cool them down with water.

IPA disc and good to go with new pads. Bed in again to deposit pad on disc. Pads bin or maybe try the above but I’d slap in new pads to get going. If the brakes are Avid/SRAM and thus Dot 5.1 then pads will be melting already anyway. Mineral oil then the boil/bake/fire might work, or not.

Blow torch. Need more heat than boiling water.
