Hi.

I am sorry I havent replied to my emails. I didnt think I had anything that was needing attendeing to. I only check itonce a week at most. Ive replied to your email now.

And at the risk of sounding rude. an you edit or delete this thread. No need for plastering not only my username, but my full name too across a forum!

That won't necessarily rub well seeing as you've posted about 25 times on this forum in the last 4-5 days. If you can access the webternet to write something here then you can just as easily check your mail.

Of course I could. But I didnt think I had any reason to. It's usually just junkmail. I have a works email that I use daily.

It's a fair comment.

For all who read this thread and may think I am some sort of scumbag. I am not living in my home at the moment for reasons I won't go into. My partner was meant to post some items I had to send and it appears that she hasn't bothered her arse. I now look like a ****!

So I give my sincerest apologies to anyone waiting on something from me. If it isn't with you by now it will be put in the post tommorow by myself personally.

It would appear this needs a little bump, if only to draw this matter to a wider audience.

I had dealings with him a month or so ago, a lot of delay/faff and "my wife was meant to send it" but it came good in the end.

Shame he's not got his act together.

OK. Everything that has to be posted has been posted this morning. I was told that due to hoidays it may be tuesday before it arrive. The watch was posted with tracking information which has been sent to leespannermonkey. Everything else was posted 1st class.

I could bore you all with the reasons/excuses but I wont.

I am very sorry for the delay. And I mean that most sincerely.

Before I go though. Now this doesnt reply to everyone who bought items.

I was perfectly happy to wait a week on payment yet when youre item didnt arrive within a week you flame me on here. **** you! If youre £10 is so important I will also refund the money to you aswell as you receiving the item.

And Ton. You don't know me. You don't know my situation so you can **** off aswell. I am well aware I should've got my act together sooner. I dont need your pointless slaggings.

Waiting a couple of weeks on a £10 shirt hardly warrants me being called a proper tool.

We'll atleast he has responded and is (so far) doing something about it an has admitted he's not been the seller of the year.

More than I have seen most seller do when they have been called out.

Not saying forgive and forget but just (atleast) be thankful he hasn't done a runner! 🙂

One of the things that puts me off selling here is the "next day delivery" mentality that some folk seem to adopt. I'm not CRC. If it takes me a couple of days to get the the PO and I'm not on email every ten minutes, that's just the way it goes sometimes.

No shipping goods doesn't make you a tool. Not replying to any emails is what makes you a tool. It makes people understandably nervous. I'm genuinely sorry if you've had issues or other commitments, that's perfectly understandable, but it takes seconds to keep people in the loop and then everyone's happy.

If you've got a work account you check regularly, why not use that for correspondence?

nsaints, I really do feel sorry for you as you are a true gentleman and dont deserve to be treated this way as no one does.
As previously stated, if people have issues sending parts that have been paid for, then please have the common decency to communicate with the buyer and explain your reasons to allow the buyer to make what ever decision necessary to bring things to a positive conclusion.

We're all critical at times of paypal, but darn it, I wish I'd paid the fees so I could make a claim on this occasion 🙁

I honestly thought that when I joined stw.com, that all you lot were middle aged / middle class upstanding citizens and true to their word.

BUT I have seen more scamming going on at stw.com over the years than sdh.com and bike radar put together.

Something has to be more clear in writing for scammers from the admin/mods. Play the scamming card and forfeit your privacy of full name and contact number.
I personally would like to see it a step further where Paypal own the UK Police force and that the Army own the UK Police force and get busy on your scamming asses.

Phew! Glad I got that off my chesticles. 😳

And address perhaps?

Or take PayPal to court and make them give you all the info on the tea-leaf.

Why not ask for a piccy of said item , being held by the seller , outside his house , Or a mates /Mums if he is worried about having his garage emptied. Then post a cheque to that address . Google streetveiw will tell you if its the actual house , or a crock of poo. Hell , if it a frame / forks get the seller to hold a A4 receipt with 'ASR5 frame sold to Houns for £ 700 dated '

You get the sellers mugshot , postal addy , photo , to see the goods , plus a virtual receipt .

Feel free to flame away

Ok , So you might have to wait a week , better than being robbed .

I think paying by PPG is a mistake with people you've not dealt with before but I'm as guilty as others of doing it to save a couple of quid.

I'm not fond of companies or organisations trying to save people from themselves but if I were STW, I'd ban asking for PPG in the classifieds to save these sort of situations or at least give those scammed some sort of recourse
Sellers just need to price things to cover their costs in the first place

Simple remedy: Classifieds selling should be for Premium menbers only.

(a) STW get a fee for running the Forum (apparently, there is only a small handful of donations each month)
(b) STW will have postal addresses so there can be some follow up if needed.

I think the problem there would be they'd have to take a position and act on a dispute, I wouldn't want to to that if I were them

Surely the sensible thing to do is pay via paypal? The fees are only a few quid and are clearly worth it when you're dealing with Bobby Bellends.

Retro bike have a better system....each user has a feedback thread, I think that's been discussed on STW before as a suggestion....At. A minimum this should be replicated on STW. There's no cost involved, easy. Not a bomb proof solution, but better than nothing

i sometimes ask for buyers to post up on the selling thread to guve feedback on what i have sold....then potential buyers can see im a good boy...

realman springs to mind though so its not all easy to see if someone is genuine.

always had excellent experiences on here though, last buyer even gave me more money than i asked for as he detected i was in a bit of turmoil over selling the item!!! stw peeps can be very good...

Why "ban" PPG, as Im quite happy to receive and pay via this method as I know quite a few forum members. Its all down to your own discretion at the end of the day.

i have been selling stuff on here for 6 or so yrs, i always use ppg and in all that time i have never had 1 complaint.

use your head, try to buy off regular forum users, never buy from obvious traders or new members with no forum history.

Banning "paypal gift"?

well you obviously can't ban it technically, but you can officially tell buyers not to use it.

How are you going to do that? Why not just ban the scammers instead?

How do you ban a scammer before he's scammed? someone will get their fingers burnt.

I usually post quickly, & email a pic of the posting receipt. It takes less than a minute to do on a modern phone. Appreciate not everyone works 2min walk from a PO though, but if you can post on here you can email an update. Likewise posting a reply on the original ad. Start closing the Classifieds to Selling only type users would be a start. Classifieds for paid members perhaps.

ban paypal gift................what a **** stupid idea.

why is it a stupid idea? with PPG you have no comeback at all, its a scammers dream, with a normal paypal payment the seller is held to account.

Just because you use it perfectly doesn't mean everyone does.
