I was just about to pull the trigger on a new home contents insurance policy when I discovered my road bike isn’t covered for accidental damage while in use — apparently this is a common thing with “sports equipment.”
I ride quite a few miles to work (and otherwise) on a quite nice Salsa and want it insured in case I wipe out en route. Anyone have a contents policy that covers this? Or any luck with the insurance companies mentioned here:

I should add that the insurance company wouldn’t insure the bike at all against damage while in use.
