Any others??

Favourite allrounder is the Specialized Butcher. Light, not too slow, pretty grippy in almost all conditions, good size, tubeless ready- not even expensive. Bonzer.

But I also reckon specialising is worthwhile- Baron for winter frinstance is still unrivalled imo.

there isn't one, every tyre is a compromise. Grip vs Roll, Grip vs Longevity etc.

Pick the 3 most important things to you and get 1 or 2 of them

Schwalbe Ultremo ZX 25mm, fast, grippy, light, what more could you need?

Or if you want pure grip a 2.7" Supertacky, dualply Minion does a right job. Tad heavy mind.

I'll chip in with an opinion based on no knowledge of what your application is - Magic Mary. ๐Ÿ™‚

Always been a fan of ContiSport Cantacts myself as good all rounders, but not sure you'll get one through in the fork. ๐Ÿ˜•

Based on you looking at Minions and HR2s, I'd say Baron (with the small caveat that I hope the new Baron is a tiny bit bigger than the old one). Rolls way better than you'd expect and sticks to wet stuff better than a very good thing (and doesn't let go without warning either).

For a combination of weight, rolling resistance and grip (and reasonable protection) I've always liked the Rubber Queen (now called the Trail King). Black Chilli version. Superb tyre. Also like the Kenda Nevegal (done sterling work on a mix of rocky and muddy/wet terrain in Lakes, Peaks and Calderdale) and the High Roller 2.

Heard good things about the Chunky Monkey and the Butcher. Given their competitive pricing they're definitely on my list of ones to try!

Hi
Ok sorry for not elaborating
Usual Calderdale/hebden MTB stuff
Nukeproof mega AM
Have got Rubber queens (black chilli) at present
Had some Minion 2.5's for Alps but are a bit big & heavy for everyday stuff

Minion DHf is all you really need, 2.5 for DH, 2.35 for everything else.

CM is pretty similar to a Minion 2.5 Exo in terms of weight, feel & use.

Good tyre for what you want though I reckon.

Another vote for the Magic Mary here - love mine, seems to grip really well in all conditions.

They are massive though.
