I'd like to use 1x9 setup. I have Shimano XT 11-32 cassette. I need a chainring for XC, marathon and some endurance races. Should I use 36t or 38t?
the answer is how strong are you.
although even a 36x32 might be a little steep for a long race.
Good luck with 38-32 at selkirk 😯
I've slow, but strong legs... 😀
34t wouldn't be fast enough on flat...
36t renthal very light and nice and strong
32T here, but that's for steep alpine terrain here in the NW Alps.
Depends on the terrain and your riding style
kingkongsfinger - What kind of chainguide is that?
One of these £16.99 and its superb, done about 40-50 hrs with it in the last 8 weeks, highly recommended. My bike gets thrashed and the chain has never come off !
