    Is there a major difference between buying some of these and buying a £50 'proper' mountain bike battery?

    those cells do not appear to be protected. i'd guess you need a number of them for your bike light ( dx one? )?
    li-ion cells aren't something to dick about with if you're not very aware of the way they should be used and treated TBH. take a look on u-tube for li-ion fire. 🙂
    buy an assembled pack from someone like smudge would be my advice.

    I could be and probably am wrong but I dont think they will be 2800 mah

    If they existed then I think Smudge would be using them instead of 2600 mahs
