  • Avid Elixirs – post and IS compatible out of the box?

    Looking at buying some Elixir 5’s for the hardtail, and have post-mount forks. Everywhere (cheap) seems to have IS mount in stock, but they look like post-mount brakes with IS mount adaptors. Is this the case or will I need to buy new adaptors?

    Straight out the box fella (I’m 89.6% sure).

    Calipers are post mount, add whatever adaptor you require.

    indeed i belive all avids are post mount with extra is mount all mine have been

    Post mount out the box, no adaptor needed at all if running a 160mm disc, you’ll need one for anything bigger
