    he was seriously hurt years ago in a car crash during a bad storm back in 1990.

    Saw ‘Allo Allo’ live on stage years back as a teenager, it had most of the original cast including Gordon and even after all these years I distinctly remember laughing so hard I could barely breath.

    RIP old chap,some liked to look down their noses at the humor in ‘Allo ‘Allo but you made a lot of people smile.

    I think it was an advertising hoarding that smashed through his car window? Think he lived just up the road from us in Yeadon. RIP 🙁

    Lived local to me in Leeds. The wife used to bump into him quite often and always had a chat , she says he seemed a lovely man. RIP 🙁

    got the full 80 odd episodes on dvd for Xmas, were on number 8 !

    went to see the stage show (with the TV cast) once or twice when i was a kid

    although seem to only be able to remember mostly helga in a basque, and seeing herflick in the bar !

    Rene was a legend !!!
