    I have a 9 sp tiagra shifter on my tricross, an xt mtb cassette and an lx rear mech. I want to replace the cassette and the rear mech – can I go ahead and choose any 9sp rear mech that shimano make? Or are there cable pull issues with road v MTB shifters etc.

    They will all work- 8, 9 or even road 10 speed (but not MTB 10 speed…).

    ETA – Another question – Can you use an SRAM cassette with shimano derailleur and shifter? Cheers.

    im using sram cassette and chain with my xt mech and deore shifter on my soul with no problems
