As it says really, Mrs k quite keen on the idea for the little one, who is a 7 and on the skinny side.

    Cheers.

Halfords used to do a set or two. Quite small. If falling off is likely maybe look for gloves with wrist guards?

most of the pads that fit small kids are not comfy. I’ve been through the same process for my 9 year old who is on the thin side. They are not designed for the leg movements associated with pedalling.

Depends a bit on where you live my youngest used decathlon ones but not too comfy – in Sheffield Langsett cycles had a good range for kids and very helpful

Matt used to have a very petite wife. She used elbow pads as knee pads.

no good if you want shin protection though.

no size chart sadly, they do an XS but it’s not cheap.

We have 661 and Kona pads that are tiny – even on uber skinny 8 year old.

None are comfy, and a faff to fit.

661 do youth ones which are actually very small and fairly reasonably priced. We bought some for our 10yr old and had to send them back for a bigger size.

My skinny 7 year old uses the G form ones XS, pricey but excellent.

I’ve tried various ones for my 5 year old and have come up with a combination that really works for him.

For the elbows he’s using Fox PeeWee. These are actually supposed to be a motocross product but they are perfect for everything, they strike a great balance between being protective but also very light and comfy.

For the knees he’s using G-Form pads. These are great for kids as they are so light and unobtrusive, but as mentioned above they are expensive.
Top tip for these is that all the models (elbow/knee/shin) are very similar and can be used for different purposes so shop around. I bought my son the shin pads in medium size which work perfectly as a knee pad for him and were reduced from £45 to £22 at SkateHut.co.uk

Skate / scooter stores worth a look, mine wear them for scootering but not bikes.
