  • Anyone use a Topeak Allay saddle because they have had problems down there?

I seem to be suffering low-level, but very real, penile pain, and I suspect it may be related to my bike riding and the pressure caused by the saddle. Has anyone else got any experience of this, and found some solutions – like changing the type of saddle?

Saddle width & angle are the two most important factors – get yourself onto a Spesh or Bonty “arseometer” and have your sit bones measured properly. Then take some time to find an appropriate (not necessarily Spesh or Bonty) saddle. Most manufacturers list the widths somewhere these days & there’s a large variance across the piece. Once you’ve found one, start it off dead level then, if needed, make very small adjustments tilting the nose down.

have you tried lowering the nose?

Not made any adjustments at all yet. Could lower the nose a bit this weekend, but don’t feel the pressure comes from the nose.
