    Thanks to those who responded to my thread the other day asking for advice on getting a cheap bike for my old man.

    Ended up going new rather than secondhand and picked up a Trek 3900 yesterday from The Cyclery in Uppermill (Saddleworth).

    Anyone interested in getting a new bike pre-Christmas – they are doing some mega deals on their remaining 09 bikes (road & mtb) at the moment. I got a really good deal.
