I was looking for the right song for a video I'm editing last night and came across the Slingbacks album, All Pop No Star. 14 years on and I'm still in love with Shireen Liane, something about the way she pronounces every single word like it has an H in it goes directly to the groin  Brilliant album.

Also stumbled across my old Placebo albums, haven't listened to them for years but what a band.

    Have to agree with Joolsburger.

A lot of those are on my biking playlists.

Likewise Screamadelica, Music For a Jilted Generation, William Orbit's Strange Cargo 3, a hefty chunk of New Order's back catologue (I've a couple of Factory Records white labels) and some Happy Mondays.

Old albums that I've been recently re-listening to and have come to the conclusion that modern music is cack:

Floodland, Love & Children are ok (well, Love is excellent), but IMO the following are better – perhaps it's the dreaded "second album syndrome" that's letting the above down 😉

Sisters: First & Last & Always
    The Cult: Dreamtime
    The Mission: God's Own Medicine

some second albums that didn't suffer from SAS:
Stiff Little Fingers – Nobody's Heroes
    Nirvana – Nevermind
New Model Army – No Rest For The Wicked

@ tazzy – Mordred were great live. The marquee was great in those days (early 90s).

Kings of the Wild Frontier must hold the record for the shortest time span between being the most desirable album ever to being the most embarassing album ever.

I know, it was a real shame. But listen to it now and, with the possible exception of Jolly Roger & Magnificent 5, it's still very very good. Ants Invasion in particular

Killing Joke – Brighter than a Thousand Suns. Complete and utter classic.

threads like this are a killer, I'm now going through all my old vinyl and memory lane. I'm going to be so depressed at work tomorrow trying to figure out where it all went so wrong and I ended up as a responsible adult 😥
