Ok, so I’m looking at treating the Mrs to a MTB as it’d be nice to be able to get her involved if we go away for a weekend or I fancy heading to GT.

At the moment she has an old Spesh Hardrock which hardly gets ridden so I’m looking for ideas as she’s still new to it so won’t be chucking her down Spooky Wood any time soon :-).

Do I go FS or HT and I’d like to keep it under £1,500.

If you’re willing to do the maintenance, a FS would make the transition easier and more comfortable (less scary jumping about of the bike, shallower learning curve e.t.c).

You could get a very, very nice secondhand FS for <1500.

    I mean very.
