  • 50mm stem on a santa cruz superlight ?

    just bought one and waiting for delivery but only have a 50mm stem ..whould it work ? I will be running 120mm forks up front 🙂

    Of course it will work, it’ll just make the steering faster/lighter. You’ll notice on the climbs that the front wheel can easily be moved from left to right more than staying dead straight but then it should feel better on the downs. Prob want a 70-90mm I guess.

    I run a 70mm on my SL , nice bikes wish I still had it, 120mm fork is great , low BB makes for good DH riding, watch them pedals 😀

    Depends of the relative sizes of your frame and you. I have a medium Superlight with a layback post and an 80mm stem. I could probably get by with a large frame, in-line post and 70 or 50mm stem.
    Oh yes – I have 120mm Rebas.
