Can this be done? I heard that you can’t reduce the travel on dual air models?

    Is this right?

It’s confusing, you actually mean ‘Dual Position Air’ – with the normal 150mm ‘Dual Air’ Revs you can adjust them to run at 150/140/130mm, the spacers come in the box.

So basically with the Revs that don’t have the two-stage travel adjust you can’t reduce travel, but with the ones that are just a simple 150mm one, you can.

It’s kind of confusing that RS has come up with two labels that sound virtually the same, but there you go.

    What BWD said…

Been trying to make sense of Rockshox’s 2011 fork range over the last couple of days cos I’m considering an upgrade. I’m after a 120mm fork with top of the range damping (so it’s an upgrade from my current Motion Control Revelation), and its been quite confusing!

But as per previous years, it seems all “Dual Air” forks are still internally adjustable with spacers, but the new “Dual Position Air” forks have 2 presets of travel, and can’t be adjusted otherwise.

Yes, I have those and they come with the spacers you need to reduce travel. The ones you can’t reduce in travel are the ‘Dual Position Air’.

ps: click on ‘specifications’ on the page above and it actually says: ‘130/140/150mm Dual Air’

theoretically you can space them to anywhere within the travel range if you make the spacer yourself..
