Just built myself up a new bike.

    Rocklobster tig team sl frame,
    menja 100mm,
xt cranks and surly 32t chainring,
    hope bb,
    juicy 7s,
    crossride wheels with nobby nics.
    ea70 other bits.
    kmc chain

my scales must be wrong – surely you can't make a bike at that weight for that little money.

    my scales must be wrong

That's what I would think, my Whyte 19 Ti SS with EC70 carbon bars and seatpost, CK hubs, XTR brakes and FSA K force light carbon cranks still comes in at around 21lbs according to the Park scales at my LBS.

Can I borrow your scales cos mine over read big time
to be fair you will have a light bike but not that light for example
    Dibbs's Ti 19 s/s is 22 1/2lbs at the lbs
my simple is 23 1/2lbs on my baggage scales

Yes your scales are fubbared so to speak, unless you are looking at the kg measurement of it. I'd say it's more like approx 25lbs but is 'ard to tell.

    #Slight hijack#

Dibbs, – What's your whyte 19 Ti like.
Could you perhaps drop me an e-mail with a review if you so please.
    That would be ace.
    Thanks,

Whatever weight it is, it flies up hills. Time to go making mincers eat dust round Inners again. 😀

My Ti rigid with full XTR and CrossMax wheels is 20lb dead so yes, either your scales are broken or you're mis-reading them!

whyterthanwhite the Ti is very nice but I'm still not sure that I can feel the difference between it and my 2005 alloy 19 with an almost identical setup. I'm sure I know which one will look better in 5 years time though.

I think you have the same scales a lot of riders seem to have, wrong ones 😉

Think my 1×9 Rock Lobster Tig Team SL is about 24lbs… will check tomorrow once I've cleaned this evening's mud off! Really like the bike, but the RL frames are very short in the top tube… could do with a bit more stability at speed?

Did your 'other half' calibrate the scales?
Its always the problem in my house, my wife is 'slight' though, 6 stone according to our scales, I'm only 9 myself though 😉
