If I wanted to use an angle adjustable headset, I’d need a straight steerer tube. Who does them for 650b forks around 169mm travel?

Works and Cane Creek both do angle headsets for tapered headtubes btw. This might not be exactly the right fit for your bike but they do others:

Xfusion are probably your best bet for 650b straight steerers I think.

Thanks, never gone down this route before. Out going bike has a good old fashioned 1 1/8 straight head tube and steerer.

Potential new bike is 49/62 headtube.

That’s a pretty weird size! Had a wee look and I don’t think Works or CC do one for those dimensions regardless of steerer. Turner sell an FSA one but it’s only 1 degree.

I fitted a -1 degree headset to my bike which has a tapered HT with tapered forks.
Think Fox do the 36 with a straight steerer (and I think Mojo did a limited run of 32s with straight steelers this year). You can get 170 Lyrik forks with straight steelers (On-One had some last month).
