Hooray, it’s week two of our smoking hot Singletrack Premier Dealer slot, Tuesday Treats. Each week, one of our Premier Dealers gives you the lowdown about their shop/workshop/bike nut hangout.
In return for reading about what makes them special, you can visually fondle a few of their wares, check out what special offers and discounts our Premier Subscribers can benefit from (with the flash of their Premier Member’s Card) and… wait for it, there is more…
Our loyal subscribers then get to enter a bespoke prize draw to win any number of prizes offered by the Premier Dealer (and coming soon, a very special industry partner). Read on for this week’s astonishingly generous gift-fest and the results of last week’s Premier Prize Draw.
This week, we introduce FETISH BIKE COMPANY
Fetish Bike Company (Cheltenham), set in the heart of Cotswolds. Housing Adam, Pete, Mark and all your bike product wants and desires.
What do Singletrack Subscribers get from FETISH BIKE COMPANY?
A whopping 20% off service costs to all Premier Subscribers and for a limited time, benefit from the Olympic 20% off everything instore and online!
Give us an introduction to your shop – who owns/manages it, when was it set up, how many staff, where are you located?
We are located in Cheltenham, near Leckhampton Hill trails and set in the heart of Cotswolds. Establised in 2011 with Adam Powell owner/director, Pete Gowland store manager and mechanic, Mark Raddenbury head of sales, we specialise in mountain bike, road and triathlon bikes with an emphasis on a friendly and informative approach to performance, fitness testing and training.
What’s your current best-selling/hottest product?
Our hottest product is the KTM Bark enduro bike, Phinx for the 29er fans and for the (dark-side) roadies, Mcipollini frames.
We are having our Olympic sale and everything seems to be selling well! The Nukeproof Mega Comp is very popular along with Shutt VR clothing. Renthal products and BOS suspension and Mavic wheels are always popular. Intrepid Apparel clothing and Them’s The Brakes t-shirts and Kask helmets sell all day long. Check out our website for more.
Which product/brand does every staff member have on their bike?
That is a simple one, (MTB wise), Continental tyres, Renthal products and Rock Shox Reverbs (every MTB should have one fitted). Mavic wheels and soon to be Di2 on the road bikes!
What was the last custom build you did?
Pete recently completed our demo KTM Phinx 1.29, Reverb post, tubeless DT Swiss with Schwalbe tyres, Renthal bar, stem and grips, 1×10 conversion with E-13 device and Shimano groupset SLX/XT/XTR mix. The thing flies! Future upgrades will be BOR cranks and wheels with FOX 34s on the front and we’ll upgrade the rear end with either BOS or FOX.
Tell us something about your shop/staff that no one knows…
With our slogan ‘more than just a bike store’ and an interesting business name, we get a lot of interesting questions! Regarding something about the staff… well that would be telling! About the store, we have workshop lectures and more movie nights coming soon, along with a new partnership with Team QDos at club level. Otherwise if you’re interested, check out our Strava data here
Is there a regular shop ride or forthcoming event you think our readership should know about?
With our fitness facilities we do more than just organise regular rides. Monday evenings are training sessions in the gym aimed at all cyclists looking to improve their fitness specific to the sport of cycling. Wednesday mornings, we ride out early at 6.30am on the road bikes to help spin the legs off mid week and then refuel with coffee and croissants before work.
At weekends we ride out with MB Swindon and Cheltenham and County Cycle Club. We regularly support these clubs and riders and help at races. We often go for rides from the unit with friends and then all pile back and use the bike wash facilities and showers before chilling out on the sofas and watching the Olympics, or the latest mountain bike DVDs. Just drop in or call us!
