Video: This Is Sheffield Mass Start DH…
Here’s a little bit of fun for your Friday afternoon – the guys from This Is Sheffield, fresh from organising the Steel City Mini DH and their ghetto dual and downhill races, have gone a step further and organised a mass start downhill race. As well as their usual Tuesday night ride crowd turning up, a certain Steve Peat and a mister Brian Lopes put in an appearance.
Check out Duncan Philpott’s edit below…
Joe has promised a full write up on the This Is Sheffield site soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that. We hope the mass-start-trail-bike-race-followed-by-beer format takes off. Either way, it all puts our night rides to shame…

That is proper Dicking About On Bikes. The world needs more of it.
A proper larf, as they say down my neck of the woods. What mountain bike racing should be about.

it puts mine to shame but it certainly recalls a mass-start underground DH race on a mountain in the central belt that happens once a year at night…
That road could do with a wee bit of patching
awaesome im loving that idea seemed a great laugh got to get something going here in wales.i think a mass start off pen y fan and down the roman road till the finishin the forestry car park would be great fun.
