Midweek Mini Movies

Woo! Wednesday already. Hopefully you lot haven’t been suffering too much from post-Bank holiday blues and from the now inevitable closing in of the evenings. First up this week we’ve got the eighth episode of The Atherton Project. With Dan and Rachel out of action, Gee has to go solo and race the British Champs without their support. Then it’s off to Champery in Switzerland for the penultimate round of the World Cup where his chance of victory in the series hangs in the balance – well, you probably know by now that it’s all ended well and Gee has won the series by a hair’s breadth in the last race in New York State, but still…

Somhairle of High 8 returns with a stylish bit of video. It’s got a big hike-a-bike and some night riding as well as an acid tinged soundtrack. Apparently it’s all a bit of practice for the Tour De Ben Nevis on the 11th September, which Singletrack’s Matt and Jon also plan to enter. Maybe they should get some training in as well..

Another video from the Pila round of the iXS European Downhill Cup. As well as having the odd glimpse of Hope sponsored rider Tom Braithwaite, downhill legend Nico Vouilloz features. The video is nicely shot and that makes the dusty, swoopy, lift assisted trails look even more attractive, if that’s possible. If you’re ever ridden in the area, the 19km long descent from the top of Pila down to Aosta is an epic, must do descent. We’re getting emotional just thinking about it.

Talking of Mr Vouilloz, here’s an oldish vid of him testing the BOS Deville fork. He is still amazing to watch on a bike. He’s also the only person we’ve ever met that carries around a bottle of nitrogen in the back of their van so he can adjust IFP pressures at will. While we’re geeking out, we’d also quite like a BOS Deville fork too..

Yeah yeah yeah, it was up yesterday, but seriously, if you haven’t seen this yet then you need to. Joe Barnes and the Dudes of Hazzard get trailbuilding, riding, weeing, riding, pinning, chatting to Christ and so on. It’s the most entertaining web edit to appear for ages…

Right, that’s all folks. If you’ve seen or made any bikey internet videos that made your eyes happy lately then send them in to jon@singletrackworld.com..
