Wee Cog is a small business based in Peebles, the Scottish Borders, owned by me Rebecca Harris, where I design and make saddle bags and accessories for bikes.

Bikes are a big deal in the Borders, both road and mountain and living next to Glentress, one of the biggest and best purpose built mountain biking centres you can’t help but get caught up in it. There are also so many beautiful quiet country roads where you can get on your bike and enjoy the scenery.

Having started my career in handbag design and made handbags for several years, I decided to change tack and I found a gap in the market for well made saddle bags for bikes. Since moving to the Scottish Borders taking up road and mountain biking I came up with the idea of combining my knowledge of handbag design and love of bikes and create a well made saddle bag. My idea coming from not wanting to use a rucksack when mountain biking and I didn’t want to carry tools and inner tubes in my jersey pocket; my option was to come up with a sleek design that sat neatly under the bike saddle without moving about, yet big enough to hold an inner tube, tyre levers, patches and tools.

Wee Cog makes stylish accessories for bikes and bikers, situated in Peebles, Scottish Borders, the heart of Scottish Mountain Biking and Cycling. Every item is handmade to order by Rebecca, the owner of Wee Cog. The idea behind Wee Cog is to have what you need on your bike so you can just get out and ride, carry less on your body, letting your bike do it for you.

Here is what we make:

Wee Cog Frame Bags:

Custom frame bags made out of Cordura, a pu coated fabric and a waterproof zip, making them water repellent. They have Velcro straps to attach to the frame. If there is room inside your bike frame then a bag can be made, in any size, shape or colour. You will be asked to email measurements, or to send a template (if the shape is unusual) and in three to four weeks you will have a made to order, stylish frame bag for your bike.

Wee Cog Saddle Bags:

From small bags for road bikes, to medium and large saddle bags for mountain bikes. You have the fabric option of bright and colourful Cordura, black and grey Cordura or the classic waxed cotton. All fabrics are water repellent and protect the contents from all extremities and can be wiped or hosed down. There is the option for dropper posts or rigid seat posts. These bags hold the essentials – inner tubes, tools, patches, levers, or a wee snack. Perfect for when you just want to get on your bike and head off, knowing you have the essential on your bike ready to go.

Wee Cog Hip Packs:

Roomy, stylish hip pack (or bum bag if you prefer), taking the pressure off your upper back. They will hold spare gloves, a light weight jacket, your phone, snacks, small water bottle or tools, there is even a handy clip for your keys so you don’t drop and lose them in the middle of nowhere. You can have the hip pack made in the colour combination of your choice.

Wee Cog Phone Cases:

Protect your phone in style with the colourful water repellent Cordura phone case. There’s a handy card and cash section too for your post ride coffee.

Wee Cog Wallets and Tool Wraps:

Handy pocket sized wallets for cards and cash, made out of Cordura in a selection of colours. So you will be post ride coffee and cake ready at anytime.

The tool wrap will Velcro anywhere on your frame if you simply want to hold a spare inner tube and tools. Perfect for enduro racing.
