    Stetching straight after a ride?

I’ve had a couple in the past. They will generally send you a high res JPEG to do what you want with.
It’s always a little hard to tell from the low res on rootsandrain how it will turn out.

I have a black Dakine drafter for sale if you are interested.
Used twice and still in very good condition, £25 posted?

Really like mine, only thing is they feel slightly big.
I’m 11 in Five Tens and would probably get away with 10.5 in the terrex.

Don’t worry, there will be loads of others overbiked on the blue route too ;)

I normally let a slower rider go first and leave a good gap, then blast down afterwards, saves you having to walk back up if they come off or have a mechanical.

Did people really thing it was that hard? I personally think the Scottish Tweed Valley enduros are more techy

Not really, no steep slop and wet roots made it fairly tame compared to most enduro’s, was a nice change :)

I posted some routes starting from dales bike centre in this thread:
    http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/any-swaledale-locals-able-to-offer-some-good-mtb-routes-1

None of the descents will compare to the ‘ard rock stages difficulty wise though…

I felt similar at the ard rock, legs like jelly on the sprints.
I’ll do some work on deadlifts, as it was my body position in general that starts to suffer towards the end of the stages, stopping me using my lower back to push down through the pedals.

Really enjoyed the stages but made a few silly mistakes on most of them…
Had a small crash on stage 3, and got held up by riders on a couple of stages. Ended up with a time of 18:37 on the Saturday.

All 5 stages use private land, plenty of bridleways around to make a loop out of though.

Some more here, although these might also be on rootsandrain…

Climbs are fairly steady gradient, but quite long. There was the odd steep(ish) bit of road climbing, but only short sections. Don’t worry about it!

Don’t think I saw anyone doing the enduro riding up fremington edge.

Weather forecast looks like it’s staying fairly dry according to BBC?

I know a very good frame painter in York.

See ‘custom paint’ tab on my LBS’s page

Well out I’d say, £7-800 for the full bike.
    Probably better splitting it up.

Running Minion DHF front and back at the moment.
If I want less rolling resistance I’ll swap for a DHR on the back.
When it gets a bit muddy / loose I’ll stick a shorty on the front.

They come in 150mm and 160mm, so you need to find out how much travel yours is, and use the markings for that to set sag etc.

I’ve not done the red for a while, but you will probably be disappointed with it compared to the other trail centres you mention. Not sure if it’s gotten better recently?

There is plenty of bridleway riding around there, mixing in some of cleveland way and some road climbs.

We usually park in boltby as there is a nice descent back down from cleveland way. I can have a look for my ride on strava if you want some ideas?

I have a large 2015 model and I’m 187cm tall. It’s my first road bike so don’t really have anything to compare it against…

I thought a large would be too small (most MTB’s are) but it’s actually quite long, I could even do with shortening the stem slightly.

Saying that, I would never buy another canyon after a friends constant problems with his strive and their lack of customer service…

The top two are anti-clockwise, and the bottom route is clockwise.
I have a GPX of all 3 if anyone wants one.

Dales bike centre sent me a few routes over starting from their shop.
Email in profile if you want me to send them over :)

Have you checked the brake fluid level yourself?

Fit some helitape to the inside of the seatstays and see how you get on.
2-3mm isn’t alot of clearance really.

I’m guessing you’ve never been before? I wouldn’t worry. A couple of days of sunshine will have it all dry again. If not, your mud riding will improve 1000%, plus the PDS is a massive area and if it’s raining in Morzine, head over towards Switzerland etc

Nope, first timer. We are travelling down and sleeping in small vans on campsites.
The plan is to stay in les gets and ride around the area for a few days.
I don’t mind mud too much, but since we are driving it would be nice to have a backup plan if the weather is bad.

Are there any websites that show current trail conditions in the morzine/les gets area?

Going at the start of July, but may have to go somewhere else if it’s a washout all week.

They’ve been good when I’ve used them.

Sometimes use parcelhero too, seems cheaper for bigger items.

Senditnow.co.uk use parcelforce services but work out cheaper.

I couldn’t get on with the race matrix, good in the dry but really noisy in the wet. Tempted to try some of the organic pads though.

Yep, atleast they’ve had a result.

Keep an eye out for the scrotes riding round seacroft on any of these bikes if you are in the area.

UPDATE – Subaru has been found parked up in Seacroft, just need to find the bikes now…

House was broken into I believe.

There was another white defender stolen from Yeadon last night too. They may be parked up somewhere while they try remove trackers so please keep an eye out if you are in the area.

They did always say the stages were going to be tricky on this one.

Nothing was overly technical, it was just steep and loose in places. We did take full face helmets but it was so hot it would have been hell wearing it.

The stages were brilliant, probably the best PMBA round I’ve ridden.

Unfortunately missed the race after a mate had a nasty crash on stage 1 sunday morning :(

Yeah, I’ll be there. Stages look really good fun if it stays dry :D
