I’m really sad, not on the dole or the list (Yet) and should be working and not stalking people but here’s DrWhatsisfaces review from SierraCyclings website.

    Hi Alan,
Just thought I would say thank you for looking after me last week. I really enjoyed the break, and I’m looking at coming back again in October.
    Kind regards
    Andrew

Proving in true Scooby Doo styley that Andrew and Alan can’t possibly be the same person! Damn those pesky kids!

Although thinking about it this could all be an elaborate scam stemming back to May 2011!

Hora I once pushed you up the hill out of Sowerby Bridge when the titanium spring on your Santa Cruz was slowing you down! So I’ll bow down to your superior knowledge! 😉

‘Spot Lane Flow’ I’ve heard it all now! You must be one of those last second constant lane swappers that cause everyone to put the brakes on and cause a mexican wave of traffic jams going way back. I’ll think of you next time I’m sat on the M62 twiddling my thumbs and wondering what’s caused the Jam. You wouldn’t do it in that time today either as it’s now closed both ways at junction 23 while they tidy up a smash. There’s gonna be some people late home tonight! 8)

Agree with what Scapegoat is saying and the reason I mentioned Thornton Lodge (don’t want to come across the wrong way this being the Internet and all and I’m not racist) is mainly an Asian community and quite a lot of them are moving into the Delves Wood area of Beaumont Park which I assume is where you are looking? I can see in the next few years this becoming a mainly Asian area. Drop me an email also if you like as I worked all over the Huddersfield area for 20 years and know it all very well.

Bit too close to Thornton Lodge Innit!

Beaumont Park is really only a couple of roads near the park itself, surrounding areas not too great, although it depends where you’re from in Leeds as you might just think we’re all soft! Riding is great nearby too! (easily linked with most of Huddersfield riding too)

Golcar would be fine for that. Taxi into hudds for fast train to leeds or manchester. Not far from Slaithwaite which is on the ‘Real Ale Trail’ train line.

How close do you need to be to the train station? i read it as just for occasional trips to see family without car rather than a daily commute. Barkisland/Sowood/Ripponden are probably as close to a train station as Golcar/Outlane/Lindley and would be a bus ride or a few quid taxi ride away.

Does Outlane have problems with snow? – it’s pretty high up and not on the A62
It looks nice as does the outskirts of Brighouse but Clifton appears to be a bit soul-less and expensive too.
    Anyone lived in Golcar/Slaithwaite/Linthwaite/Beaumont Park/Lindley?

If it gets snow it’s only a few times a year and all the main routes clear pretty quickly. I work in Leeds and doesn’t really cause me any problems.

I live in Golcar and think it’s great. Very easy to get to the M62 close to Hudds but far enough away too and great riding from the door in the colne valley and easy to drop into the Holme valley or Calderdale on either side. Canal is in valley bottom so links up Slaithwaite and Marsden very quickly. Nice little village centre with great amenities and lots of character in parts with old weavers cottages and great views. Great choice of pubs and restaurants around the surrounding area. Don’t look too close to Milnsbridge as there is a small council estate down that end, which not too bad but has it’s share of undesirables. Slaithwaite and Linthwaite have nice parts but you are getting away from the motorway and won’t be as easy travel wise. For Beaumont Park you would be better looking at Netherton/Honley but again this is increasing your travel to the motorway.

Lindley is very close to motorway and nearer Hudds with good amenities and good schools if thats a requirement but it’s also more built up and riding from the door not as easy.

Outlane is a good place to look but not very much comes up for sale and some properties on the main road can be a bit close to the motorway noise wise. Also Sowood/Stainland/Jagger Green/Holywell Green/Greetland/Ripponden and barkisland would be areas to suit your requirements.

Most of the decent descents are too cheeky to do with 250+ groups of riders! What did you expect a quick sneak over the farmers wall, through his cow field, across the nature reserve, down through the woodland footpath and through Mrs Potters prize flowerbeds? You need to get out and explore if you want to find the good stuff round there! As a charity/fundraising challenge it’s always really good, well organized and marshalled.

There is actually a lovely little trail through TP woods on a bike that starts at Heaton Rd and twists through the trees and ends up in a really steep drop. It’s very short but used to be on a route to my parents house and I used to love it. Don’t get to ride it much now they’ve moved but linked it into an urban ride recently and it was still fun. Also used to go there as a kid and on trips from local nursery school. It’s a great little wood that hardly anyone seems to use. Brings back good memories. 🙂

Just tell him you’re employed by the council to ride round all the footpaths picking up all the dog shite with your tyres! Maybe you should change the name from ‘Secret Woods’ to ‘Illegal Woods’! 😆

If the plumber is stumped then i would have thought he has already bled the radiators. It sounds like a circulation problem and if you have microbore you could have a blocked restricted manifold/s (where the pipes branch off to different radiators) also microbore is very difficult to powerflush and often won’t work if system very ‘sludgy’. if you have/have had a sludgy system there is sometimes a return filter on alpha boilers (which model is it?) that can be restricted or blocked and this will affect circulation.

Yeah envelope should just turn up. Make sure you write down your serial no. as i forgot and couldn’t track the progress. I also realised after I’d sent it off that I hadn’t included my details even though you weren’t asked to, but they must scan the label on the return envelope or just use the serial no. Very happy with the new one as it’s 8gb whereas the old one was 2gb and couldn’t fit enough music on it.

It seems taka seems to have issues with Cycle Recycle, i hope he really has had a bike stolen and isn’t just trying to tarnish their reputation. I hope to be proved wrong but if not how low life a scumbag do you have to be to bad mouth a charity? 👿

Where was it stolen from? It’s difficult to tell from your post but is it a sort of pub bike that has been left lying around Hebden rusting away and someone has donated it to cycle recycle for them to do up? Wasn’t sure if your ‘but its my dads only means of transport’ was supposed to pull at the heart strings a bit? Is it you bike or his? If it was actually taken in a break in I’m sure the police would be a bit more interested?

Looking at what you’ve got you have a 240V supply running a timer and possibly 24v from the boiler to terminal 2 and back to the boiler via terminal 4 to switch it on. The replacement is a 240v switch so probably not compatable. Buy a suitable replacement and get someone to wire for you. If you end up putting 240v down the 24v circuit it’s gonna get a whole lot more expensive for you!

Bit like a bike for me. I’d go for look and characteristics over rarity and price! As above it’s a really hard metal and some of the rings look really good. Keep it cheap and spend more on her ring she’ll appreciate it more. Or see if you can get a bike/wedding ring combo package for the same price as a Platinum ring. 😉

I’ve got a KS which I’m very happy with, but I’ve only had it a couple of months so I’m waiting to see how it bears up over winter. That’s a novel username Stevie and quite bizarre as we had a mate from Rochdale that we christened Stevesorefinger any relation?

Always love when they show people on the news that are complaining they won’t be able to afford their fuel bills this winter and will probably freeze to death. They always seem to be fat and have a whopping great top of the range flat screen TV and probably full sky package and a 45 quid a month iphone 4!
