All I know is they have stopped selling the dark chocolate coated marzipan bars in our local store which I am really pissed off about. They were lush, and amazing fuel during a ride :-(

Oh crikey, ‘no longer with us’ in that sense. I thought it meant he didn’t post on here any more. RIP :-(

Deanwood Caravan and Camping. Nice campsite in great location and right at the top of some great off-piste DH runs.

“I’m fine”….. Ain’t that the truth – last time my wife was ‘fine’ it turned out she was pregnant

Aaaah nightmare! Hope you get it sorted asap. These posts always serve as a timely reminder to check my Spitfire for cracks more often…

Slayer. Slayer. Slayer. If you like that sort of thing \m/

A recommendation to not go and see would be Stereophonics – the most disengaging uninteresting band I’ve ever seen on stage. And I like their music by the way

Strange, I thought the climbs on the Brechfa black were harder than any of the Afan climbs

But the Buy-it-now is actually LESS than the price he paid to build it! Come on people, that is a bargain and no mistake

Its so difficult to describe how to pop off a lip! You can get serious height and distance though with a good manual bunny-hop off a lip. Look how late his back wheel leaves the transition, means he needs far less speed to clear it. Like this:

Beware the last run. You’ll be knackered so upping the challenge on the last go could prove painful! I did the ‘one last run’ thing on Sunday – and I actually even dropped down a level of difficulty for it. Was knackered, wasn’t concentrating properly and the inevitable happened – I smashed into a tree :-)

Had Panasonics previously and always been impressed. Went for a Samsung 4K this time and its fantastic. Also it has a gaming mode which dramatically speeds up the response without significantly compromising picture quality, if gaming is your thing. Makes a big difference with online shooters such as Call of Duty

Benpinnick posted a picture a while ago of someone ‘sending’ an enormous drop/gap on an Aeris over the top of people stood there and a parked truck with the caption ‘this will not void your warranty’. I’d still say the Bird warranty is better. I went for a Spitfire in the end as a great 2nd hand one came up, but there’s a small part of me wishes I’d gone for a new Aeris, purely for the warranty as I have none with the Spitfire!

My Nan used to reckon that if you farted and burped at the same time with enough force you’d do a backflip

My wife let a horrendous one go in a slow, tiny lift in a hotel in Florence some years ago. She later confessed to holding it in especially for the lift, all the way back from the restaurant – a 30 minute walk.

D’oh in contrast to my post above my EX471s are actually on DT350s not Hope Pro IIs. Knob-head.

DT EX471s on Hope Pro 2 evo. So far so good for me, very stiff rim, withstand my botched heavy landings and easy tubeless.

Finding an awesome new trail. I ride off-piste in FoD a lot, and this happens all the time :D

Mrs Wilko works for a dairy importer and her boss is Greek, he moved his family over here some time ago. The morning we all woke up to the ‘UK votes to leave’ news, he left his house as normal to go to work. His next door neighbour rushed out to greet him and said ‘Ha ha, you’ll have to eff off back to Greece now’

Nothing much else to say other than this made me very sad, along with so many other similar tales :(

Ha ha I’ve become a ‘thing’! As it happens I am the master of stripping threads and snapping bolts. I really must get a decent torque wrench

Bird Aeris seems to be one of the standard answers on these threads lately. And for good reason I’m told.

Snapped the little lock bolt on my 142 axle last night! That thing is pretty soft. Better pay particular attention to the torque setting next time as opposed to waiting for my elbow to click :D

Ooh yeah Man V Food, good call

I hate sitting in front of the TV watching shite, for example Eastenders, Holby etc, the sort of stuff Mrs Wilko likes. But I’ll happily sit and watch other shite, such as Dinner Date etc. Ooh, and the shopping channels – the infomercials are fascinatingly bad

Dinner date. There, I’ve said it

EDIT. Its like Come Dine With Me only worse

Been having trouble with the CCDB CS Air on my Spitfire since I bought it second-hand. The compression adjustments seemed to make little or no difference to the performance. On many jumps I’ve been getting bucked and going really nose heavy. Not a problem I’ve had before although its forced me to question my technique! Anyway sent it to TFT and its got some internal problems meaning I’ve got pretty much no damping at all. £170 for a full service and to fix the problems. Ouch, but cheaper than a new one and should be good as new once its back.

What happened with your Inline ahsat?

Having recently changed to the new 36s after two sets of Pikes I much prefer the feel and additional stiffness of the 36s. That’s not to say they are massively better, they just suit me I think

For those of you (like myself) that wanted a little more detail on EWCM, and the other types of CM, this is a very informative article:

One of my riding buddies has a Mojo HD too, and does absolutely huge stuff on it. He’s had it for years and its bloody solid and reliable too considering how hard and often it gets ridden.

I have that model, went for the 1.5tdci titanium with optional sat nav, and tow bar. It’s brilliant, I’m so pleased with it. Drives very similar to my old Focus estate, very car like, quiet on the motorway and handles pretty well. Certainly doesn’t feel like a van. Obviously it’s huge inside too and the rear five seats fold flat for an enormous boot. I took the rearmost seats out for a while making the boot even bigger. For biking/kids/dog detail it’s absolutely ideal, and the practicality of a van-shaped car is great for tip runs/moving bulky items around etc

2-1 to Australia. They will win the first two tests and then we’ll win the last when Oz take their foot off the pedal.
