But Gav, you know young Mr. B will be out Sunday morning going for glory to regain his KOM, he may even employ someone to go down first and open that bloody gate half way down as well!

    Tom

Tom, For a change, the gate was already open.
I’m not expecting to keep the crown forever but to prolong my reign, I’ve been down there this morning and raised the waterbars a few inches along with the scattering of few bags of assorted nails for good measure.

This has actually worked out better for me,
I’ve been contacted by a guy who read this thread and we’ve done a deal on the same wheels, with tyres, already set up tubeless and should be with me for the weekend so it’s not all bad :-)

A tent is only as comfortable as what you are lying on and how waterproof it is.
A large tent that you can stand up in and has a decent sized living area is best for families,, especially when it’s raining but this is not what you’re asking for.
Be careful of reviews too. I bought a Coleman tent based on great review but it turned out to be terrible, it wasn’t cheap either.

Bit of a minefield is tent buying, hope you find a good one.

I’ve received a polite Email from Tim and although there was no real explanation for this, he does seem genuinely apologetic. Also the original purchaser would’ve received his wheels yesterday had he not been on the school run when the postie came.
So it’s pitchforks away from me and if it isn’t too much trouble, could the mods please close this thread now. Thanks

Can’t you borrow your mate’s old wheels?

No,,he sold them on to his mate

I’d be contacting Paypal and telling them step by step what has happened. Otherwise my initial instinct is to dispute the original payment and only refund the “refund” when the dispute is settled in the OP’s favour. But I think getting Paypal involved, immediately, is the best bet.

    Good shout Klumpy,,,and done. :-)

When you open your wallet and realise the cashback you should’ve taken from the ‘Notes out’ slot at the self service checkout is not there.

Yup, done that one too.. luckily it was only £10 and was in ASDA so someone poor got the money who needed it more than me

It’s definitely a flawed system, apparently, there’s a drawer full of unclaimed money in our local Asda

The payment never came though as a refund but attached to it was a note from Tim…Full refund for Hope wheel set. Tim. Sent via mobile using the PayPal app.

I’m not bothered about “getting the forks out”

I’m just warning other people that paypal gift to this guy might not be a very wise option.

Well, he did refund him, maybe he is just a bit disorganised and confused sellers etc. There are plausible explanations for this.

Wrong, I contacted the original buyer who said he’d purchased the wheels a week ago and was still waiting for them to be sent.

How can he not be a scammer when he’s accepted money for some wheels he’s already sold.

Definitely a halfwit who’s left me without any wheels.

I just got contacted by Mr Tim Lott regarding a WTD ad I put up this evening for some wheels. Has anyone else had any dealings with him?

I have just had a dealing with him(singlesteed AKA Tim Lott)
He contacted me after I put an add on the wanted section,he contacted me via Email and we did a deal on a pair of hope/stans wheels that it turns out he’d already sold to someone else,,accepted my money and then refunded it a few days later due to unforeseen circumstances.
After a bit of digging I managed to get hold of the person who’d already bought the wheels and they are waiting for them to be shipped. Very dodgy, luckily I used the goods and services option on paypal but he did say Gift would be preferable.

    My current bike,

Having said that, nothing has ever felt as good to own as my first ever bike. It was a fully rigid 1991 Saracen Andes,Orange with green forks like the one in the pic below.
Jesus, look at the length of that stem.

Stick with 9 speed! It’s cheap as chips brand new and does the job very well. 9 speed parts will be available for ages

Just checked crc and compared prices,,not much difference in price between 9 and 10 speed.
The 9 speed stuff I take of my full suss will keep my Hardtail going for longer.

im about to split my dh bike as ive purchased a new one. It’s 9 Speed, X9 mech and X0 shifter. Interested?

Edward2000,,I prefer Shimano but thanks anyway

It’s a sign of true liberation from giving a shit about what anyone thinks about what you look like.

    I’m not sure about that.
When I’m at home with no “anyone” to worry about, I still put my undies and socks on before my shirt and bobble hat.

I once had a dream where somehow,I found myself taking a woman from behind in a busy shopping area.
We were looking at our reflection in a store window and getting off on it and the fact that everyone could see us on the job.
Up until this point, the identity of the woman was a mystery to me.
Then she turned round and gave me a big cheesy grin,it was Vera Duckworth.
I don’t even watch Coronation street
