    I’ve had this issue with non ust mavics, they dont hold the bead in place when not under pressure. The solution was to use rim strips and inflate with a ghetto inflator to get a large volume of air in there quickly, a track pump hasn’t got the volume in one stroke.

    MK2 2.4 protections here which I like for a decent all-rounder but if you ride rocks this will happen very quickly;

    I’ve also run 2.2 x kings which did the same even quicker – both black chili flavour. The 2.2s come up quite small, about the same as an old school maxxis 2.35 – ie 2.1ish HTH

    It is pretty obvious though if you CBA to compare the vid to an OS map…

    Here’s my full-on winter boots, Salomon something or others with Stealth rubber soles. Suitable only for sub-zero temps though so not had much use this year;

    That is very, very nice. What’s it weigh?

    Blimey those sidewalls look thin! Thats a different failure to what I’m anticipating, are they the protections? Mine seem to be sprouting fur..

    beginning to think Conti’s aren’t fit for purpose…

    Got any pics of your failed MK’s Edward? Mine are seriously worn on the sidewalls, it might give me an idea as to how long I have left before certain death.
    I find Hans Dampfs a big bruiser of a tyre, great for plowing through rocks but quite draggy and not much cop in mud, definitely not a ‘jack of all trades’ tyre as the name suggests.

    Nobby Nic has roughly the same tread pattern and with snakeskin the sidewalls will outlive the tread, not as grippy as Black chili though. Also if you’ve got Stans rims they may not fit.

    I was joking God WHAT HAVE YOU DONE! 😉

    That didn’t take long, get smashing.(don’t take out the bricks holding the lintel up though) 🙂

    Make sure there’s a lintel in there first. Chop plaster off first maybe before smashing it out?

    Hopefully more rubber on the inside…Have you had any let go on you Northwind? These are Mk 2’s btw, harder compound I think

    Well, I was going to say it’s not a pressure thing but if I’m supposed to be running 40-55psi it could be…tricky on Stans though, aren’t they rated up to about 40psi?
    Pretty sure its the rock scuffage doing it tbh, Isn’t it the threads that are holding the carcass together? I think I’ve lost a few… 😕

    I’d rather ride it until just before it blows cheers nobeer 🙂
    Yes it’s plenty rocky but other tyres don’t wear anything like this, I’m still running a pair of 6 year old Nobby Nics with perfect fur-free sidewalls.
    About 10psi Al 😉

    What mrlugz said plus

    Not as comfy as others due to less padding, and I don’t think they will last as long. They just feel ‘different’ cheap

    These are that cheap, you could weigh the tin in for scrap and get em for nowt probably

    Oooh can I do that br? Wasn’t sure if it would confuse things having it installed already 😕 That is perhaps the safest option for an IT buffoon like myself. Cheers, will have look into it

    Thanks all for the replies.
    Is MSE still the best option with windows 7?
    Will try the Norton removal tool if I can fumble my way through it and probably stick in the MSE

    Cheers all

    Cheers Warns, I’m a 26erer though should still apply I guess.
    Those Geax look draggy as hell househusband bit weighty too

    I was hoping the volume would be the same as the other 2.25 Maxxis ie Ardent, Advantage etc. If its 2.35 Minion, Highroller size its too small – pants!

    Wont it be solid brick ie no cavity if it s 100 year old?
    There is a temp paint fix if its not too damp, Glutenglas is a quick drying varnish type of affair or if you cant get that just paint it with oil paint. No paint will stop it coming back through eventually though
