Check if the software you intend running requires W7 to be updated in any way and take it from there.

Muso’s tend to shout loudly about their problems! :)

Has Mike scratched? Jesse Carlsson is showing as race leader. :(

Or is it just a tracking glitch because he is off route on a diversion?

Looks like he is taking the diversion because of forest road closures. :(

I know they’re handy, but I prefer to avoid cycle paths in areas I don’t know. Even with onscreen GPS, they can be a pain to navigate and really slow things down.

I know what you mean and understand. There are exceptions, though, and the route through Lancaster is an old railway line so quite direct. It certainly beats the roads and one way system! :)

A quick look at google maps route finder (cycle setting) gives more or less what I would have ‘plotted’. It utilises the lovely surfaced cycle ways round Lancaster and avoids some really crap roads!

EDL marchers have already attacked the police and are now holed up in a pub.

I use Arriva in North Wales regularly and have never had a problem, even when crowded.

Not sure of the exact quote, scotroutes, but is your unease/botheration similar to that of the guy describing golf as being ‘a spoilt walk’? :)

Shame it doesn’t have three slots, toys19, because I’ve found some, too!

Your laptop will recognise up to 2gb in total.

    I do like a happy ending! :)

Vista has a well known problem with ‘system restore’ gradually eating up your hard drive space!

HTH, toys19. The symptoms you described are the classic ones for this.

Read/write error reports refer to system memory.

People seem to forget that a hdd is just another form of memory. The system does not differentiate between it and RAM when it reports an error.

Tryed to reinstall windowsxp, it kept complaining about write errors from the disk. Tried a couple of linux distros on cd they also fell over for write errors. So I put the linux distros on a bootable USB, again halfway through install it again complains of write errors..

I know exactly what you mean, but the wierd thing is, using hirens boot disk, I have run every HD test known to man and its all fine..

Faulty RAM is probably the problem. At least take it out and reseat it, after blowing off any dust or crud.

Bootleg Win 7 is likely to be 32bit. This will only recognise and use up to 3gb of ram.
A fresh Windows install or switch to Linux is the cheapest improvement, bearing in mind what others have said about ongoing component reliability.

If you are an asp.net development worker then you must keep that account, otherwise your ASP.net projects will no longer function correctly. Deleting it will do no harm and achieve your aim of booting straight to desktop, provided you set no user account password.

Download Ubuntu Studio from HERE[/url] and run the dvd ‘live’, ie without installing it. Has a great video editor built in, Openshot, and some other good stuff! :)
