Flanders is also a nice loop with achievable hills and some mild rough bits.

Roubaix is like getting punched in the kidneys while being kicked in the balls, for 6hrs or so.

    Done both.

Flanders was a smashing day out.
Roubaix I’m SO glad I’ve done. Not going back… Easily hardest ride of my life.

Was very fortunate to get to ride it a lot this summer. Never have I enjoyed a bike more. An absolute riot of a thing.

Bit of a punt but if you are medium and want one thats two (road) rides old. Id sell mine. Bought from Rutland sale the other day on a whim. Wasn’t really what I’m after. Ideally I’d like back what I paid for it. But mail me. Still have tags etc. only bought it the other day.

thought it would be funny to have their company name as ‘naive’ backwards!

    not sure if joking…

    i admit it’s a coincidence… but intentional? hmmmm.

    you say this.

Wow, some very cynical people on here.

and then go on to say this.

For what it’s worth part of me does want to sell the bike,

proving that I/we are right. So not cynical, just able to see through bullshit.

For what it’s worth i don’t care if you tout for business selling your bike or not. just thought it was funny people wasting their time giving you suggestions to help you keep a bike you quite clearly want shot of.

oh and one of the lifts got stuck for 10 minutes, with me on it, attempting to fit in a quick 10 minute warmup 10 minutes before a moguls skills clinic This was a 10minute cooldown, and a 30sec schuss to the meeting point.

what’s the phrase? ‘first world problems’ ;)

Think you guys are all missing that the OP is BS and the guy is quite willing to sell his bike.
As mentioned I think this is an elaborate classified attention ad.
Nobody has such tiny balls they put up with this if they weren’t at least partly going along with it/trying to appease the wife.
    Not even a triathlete.

Funny you should choose a stealth as an example. It’s not even that warm as a cycling jacket!
Sweaty on mtb maybe, but on road with windchill it’s not that great. So in snow with windchill? Hmmm. Not for me!

FWIW, I called regularly and was usually fobbed off with a “he’ll get back to you”,

IME the beauty of calling is that you don’t have to get fobbed off. I’d just stay on the line, make them pass it up the line there and then. V. easy to ignore an email. Much harder to ignore someone on the phone there and then. Just don’t accept the above!

sounds like they both needed bleeding? they bled the rear to fix it but not the front, then the front needed doing still?

Do the people that complain about emails going unanswered ever try phoning? Just wondering like….

    this.

every day about 50 people come on the forum and complain that ‘xxx company/persons are ignoring them, and thus providing TERRIBLE service’, but have only emailed.

why are people so scared of lifting up the phone these days? or is it laziness?

    as above.

i looped from malin bridge all the way to cakes of bread and along to broomhead moor (hobson moss anyway)

0 snow. very little ice considering the temps. what ice there was was perfectly rideable.

    this bit was sketchy mind

depends which trail. just got in from 3hr ride right over the tops. not much ice at all, unless at a wet bit. then lots of ice.

spent my whole life up to that point going through the motions (decent education, decent degree etc.), took a well regarded graduate job and realised i had just sold myself and mapped out my entire future up to the age of 67 ish.

a very depressing couple of years watching the summer go by out of the window before i realised that i didn’t have to be like those guys, and promptly left. (much to their shock)

    time not money.

Ill go for a out of those options. Particularly as they has pretty much said they are only doing it because they have listened to their values customers (boycotting)

As I said its an hmrc issue. The concept that if hmrc come down hard all these companies will up sticks and leave the uk is a **** joke. They need to get tough and sort it out. For all companies. Now.

Tootall you say silly sods but…

As I understand it Starbucks haven’t changed their tax structure at all. They have just nominated to give hmrc 20mil over 2 years. The protestors claim this comes form PR budget (which makes sense).
As I understand it they haven’t changed their infrastructure at all, and after this 20mil currently don’t propose to pay anything further.

It’s a **** joke if you ask me. But it’s hmrc that needs to sort.

worked on a number of sites where similar to the above has gone down.

one set of sparkies got booted off site so had a mad 20 minute dash round cutting out everything they had installed over the last few months.

another set (not sure which trade – different site) unbolted a load of scaffolding supports on their way out and sent an innocent lad crashing down 3 stories or so and straight into casualty.

diff guys again (and diff site) got pissed off with a fella (think he was some kind of building control man or maybe a manufacturer – was very picky and would regularly come down and make them redo anything with the slightest issue)…
anyway, while he was on a diff bit of site they hopped up to his car in the multistorey opposite and built a rather neat U-shaped breeze block wall all the way around the back of it. then went home.

UK companies get rid just before Christmas before you’ve spent your money on presents, US companies do it after when you’re skint.

no idea what that means, but i suspect they do it pre crim so that you ‘work’ out your notice holidays while the office would be shut anyway – over the christmas period.

FEA stuff is normally pretty interesting

    ummm

    tracknicko

pretty dull (IMO), I’ve written FE models and that was bad enough….

Lot of money in it (oil industry), looking at well heads etc….

    this.

TONNES of money in FE, also TONNES of jobs.

i know it’s scary to be turfed out, but people could do so much better for themselves if they bothered, sometimes being hoiked out is the impetus they need.
