    Thanks all!

Had a great blast round last night. Lots more drops and jumps from the one time I’d done it years ago. Very fun 🙂

How about now – this weekend. Looks like a nice day for it.

    Options:
1- You would be out of your depth – Ice axe and significant snow cover
2 – pretty but not dangerous – some snow about but paths largely clear
    3 – all melted mate

For me it’s slowriders point – have you tried pulling over an inexperienced group into a passing place?

Disruptive, dangerous and likely to leave riders stopping in front of you anyway. They probably felt bad about keeping you behind them but tbh not a lot they could sensibly have done if it was as narrow as you say.

As a single cyclist it is very very different! No cats to herd 🙂

+1 for a great recommendation. A bit like a much better version of project mx-5 by car throttle

Now I’m just impatient to see it finished!

I quite like my historic racing and fancy them now they have started making their own movements.

The rough ballpark here is that I was on 55k in specialist industry- moved two years ago into generalist company continuing to do the same work for pay cut. Now on 50k.

College who I was at the same level and skills as in specialist industry has reached 80kish

Specialist industry job advertised as 50-80k and I want to make sure I’m at the higher end. Anyway so it’s quite a big difference to me and I think saying I’m on 50 would put you off paying 80? GT/Steve, thoughts?

had a bike change with a team mate earlier

second bike change required to get him back on his spare bike. Plenty of sticky bottle and a stroppy comisaire getting him back in 🙂

    MDV

That bike shop in reigate full of shiny road bikes and nice coffee. Good bunch and some mtbers hiding amongst them 🙂

I’m a reigate local but don’t often get a pass to ride on Sunday’s. Might be able to work out a ride together though, feel free to drop me a mail.
Quite a few Wednesday night groups out of reigate. Most are groups of dads/mates. There are a few mtbers riding out of MDV on Wednesday night through the summer as a slightly more organised thing, keep an eye on their facebook page

    Whenever I safely can 🙂

Was beautiful in my Alfa v6- mk7 golf gti is still fun but less sonerous

Would really miss the noise and experience in an electric

My wife learnt to drive in a diesel and barely ever takes our golf above 3500, feels a shame!

    You are all wrong!

    White bread – warburtons
    Burtoli with butter
    Strong cheddar
The strongest pawn cocktail crisps you can lay hands on. Non multipack walkers or prawn cocktail Pringles

The cheddar and prawn cocktail – umami ftw

Ps – anyone else notice how weedy multipack walkers are compared to single bags? massively less flavoring

Trying to describe a current boss and his ability to have long tangential conversations which don’t actually add anything:

“He’s a really nice guy, but he sometimes gets sucked off down an alleyway….”

Went round the project like wildfire! 🙂

I’ve been getting into it recently. Got a second hand tamiya xv-01 rally car.

It’s great fun to rag round, perhaps not ideal for a muddy field but perfect for a walk in the woods or a gravel car park. Plus it looks and acts more like a scale car which is what I wanted. Great quality kit and fun to tinker with. Slightly frustrating to have to completely disassemble and clean after each run when the bearing seize up!

Starting to feel the the need for more power soon, but a sealed bearing kit is first on the list!

    +1 for dirt rally

This thread has a lot to answer for, it lead me off down a rabbit hole of reminiscence and childhood want that has led to eBay purchasing 🙂

I had a manta ray (cheap ready to run version) as a kit and always wanted the kit but didn’t get it

Love the scale cars but wanted some off road ability and fancied something to do skids so I have an xv-01 rally car on the way

I’m going again this year, hopefully Val Thorens in late feb

    Any experiences of val?

Also I’ve always just rented the cheapest skis, this will be my 4th week and I have my own boots should I bother looking at the ‘better’ rental skis?

Ive got the mk7 Golf GTI and I would say it is as nice as a place to be than the audi’s and comes with a pretty nice spec and interior.

No experience on what the GTD I like to drive but surely it is more engaging than the others? GTI is pretty damn fun

See my email response below, I asked the same thing but have the older (pictured green) hubs

    Hello,
Thanks for the email. Yes, there would be a noticeable difference if you were to make that switch to Fun Bolts. Below is a list of part #s you would need, and a distributor in the UK that can help you source these parts. I hope this helps.

    PHB544 – Axle

    PHB708 – Adjustment Clamp

    PHB507-10 – Fun Bolts

    Hi

I’ve been running some ISO mtb hubs for over ten years now, I think they are 2002/2003 vintage. Apart from the occasional preload and service they have been faultless, so thanks 🙂

The front is now running qr15 but I’ve not touched the rear and it’s still running a QR. As mtb has moved on I’m starting to feel the limitations of my current bikes rear end stiffness. I’ve got a ibis Mojo sl with a standard qr dropout rear end. Pictured: http://flic.kr/p/rBPo9F

I’ve been suggested a switch to fun bolts as a way of gaining some rear end stiffness, what would I need ? And who could supply the parts in the uk?

Thanks, and hears to another ten years

Did this drive last summer taking my golf gti down for some French mountain roads with the road bike in the back.

    Driving Tips:
Do route napolean (n85) even if it’s a detour
Do try and order a French motorway toll tag
Go up go gorge du verdon and col du vence

Riding: I did Club des cinque or however it’s spelt (3 times up and down)
I think from looking at the bike shops at the bottom in Bedouin you wouldn’t find any adapted bikes
Might have to hire in the UK and get In the car?

Staying: stayed at Les mas de baux through booking . Com
Couldn’t get much more authenticity French, it was simple but great and friendly

And finally, Harry’s videos are awesome arn’t they 🙂
They are quite few videos in that area, one of the Evo coty and chris Harris golf gti review are both quite local

I got bitten on the ear by an ant a few weeks ago, it really hurt and I let my wife know how much it hurt….. for about 2 hours

she had just fallen over, nearly rolled of a clif and scrapped and bruised both legs

apparently an ant bite isn’t comparable 🙂
