Are you going to try and find sessions that roughly match what’s on the plan?

That’s the plan, I haven’t gone through TrainerRaod and matched each session exactly, there are a number that do match and the others I’ll create the sessions and post them here.

Right time for an update, much paint has been spread around and the kitchen and toilet have been purchased.

Three trips to Ikea in three days and no ‘cross this weekend, however we are now in position to kick off the next stage which will be the door, windows, floor fitting along with the the kitchen and bathroom installation.

All nicely configured in a row, each packet numbered.

    Good idea, I’m in.

Currently on a three week rest period then 2014’s training starts, coached as well…

Good race that, nice bit of mud, plenty of busted rear mechs. Andone rolled tub, Not very pro!

You think Sven waited on that last hill? Classy.

Care to explain what is going on with that front brake hose Chef?

The front brake is on the left, Euro style, so having it like that just makes the run smoother.

How do you find the switch to rigid RichP?

I’ve an odd itch to try racing a rigid 29er that might need scratching at some point in the new year.

It’s all in the legs and your technique.

Yes when racing, no when training.

Sponser, nothing else comes close in my experience.

Loving my Fuji X10 I purchased early last year. A fantastic camera, and Fuji have just released a very good firmware upgrade to it, which adds a few funky settings to play around with.

It lets me use it as a very good point and shoot, or play around with all the normal classic SLR settings for more creativity.

Which is how I find myself in this position

Interesting, you had the bouncy one?

Transfer the drive chain, brakes, contact points, new wheels and forks? Still and expensive exercise.

    Keep us informed.

I’ve never raced a 29er with a number on, I have however nailed a couple around one of my test loops.

Possibly worth 90 seconds per hour on a XC course, not totally convinced, quicker yes, worth the money when you’ve already got a 20lb 26er, nah not at the moment.

However since my two previous Trek frames have cracked and they no longer so a 26er SSL, then maybe sometime soon…..

Still racing a 26er, its all in the legs you know 🙂

Liking FM056 that Chris Noble built up though…..

Respect to rider 27 in that set!

The Finns have an odd sense of what CX is but I like the fact everyone is racing with a smile.

One of those days, was about 2 minutes or 10 places behind where I should have ended up.

VO2 max of 70 (WTF do you do with that figure then?)

You race, and most likely win, congrats!

Half my age and the VO2Max estimate was 6ml/kg/min too low.

I’ll be switching mine over next week on both cars. Studded on the big car, normal winter tread on the small one.

Some definitions from the Swedish transport agency:
    A definition of winter tyres
Winter tyres can be studded or non-studded so called friction tyres. The tyres must be

•especially manufactured for winter road conditions and
    •marked with M+S, M-S, M.S., M&S, MS or Mud and Snow.
Note: There are occurrences with tyres marked with M and S that are not especially manufactured for winter road conditions, but for terrain driving.

Summer tyres have a mixture of rubber that makes them too hard during cold weather. That’s why you should use winter tyres when the temperature is around the freezing point and below.

The best tyres at the back
The tyres with the best pattern depth or the tyres that has the best grip on the road should be mounted at the back on the vehicle to decrease the risk of sliding when breaking or taking turns. The tyres with the highest studs should be mounted at the back. This goes for both front wheel and back wheel steered cars.

    So who raced this weekend?

Double race weekend for me, Saturday was a failure summed up by this timely picture:

Sunday was a little better but still not what I expect.

    You guys?

    muppetWrangler

    Not again!

Well looking at your graph, you either trained too hard, of the FTP setting is too low 😕

Agree that there isn’t an instant increase on the road/trail, but improvements come over time via consistency.

Would these workouts be suitable on rollers?

All my sessions are done on rollers, no excuses there I’m afraid 🙂

    The-Swedish-Chef

Some good training going on here.

Think you need to increase your FTP setting muppetWrangler!

IMO you can’t go too wrong with Pearl Izumi kit, well made, good material, and cut for function.

As others have said, no, not the city, but some of the surrounding towns are very nice. Spent a few years at the Uni and run and back out to Kenilworth a lot and thought that it looked a lovely place.

I use the shed too, looks very odd when there is snow everywhere, minus degrees, and I’m sweating like crazy wearing bibs, gloves, and no top!

Did Sufferfest’s Revolver last night, still loving the integration with TrainerRoad, 16 minute sprints off 1 minute rest, lovely!

so which 60-90 minute session to keep me ticking over until i can test at the wkd.

As suggested Colosseum was good for a variable 90 minutes of training, the others mentioned are more “session” based so less group ride feeling, although there nothing stopping you do Sufferfest Angels without the film, as that’s quite a varied session.

Action Man was pretty cool, I also had some space ship/SciFi toys but I’ve no idea what they were, and not sure what to Google to find out.

Hmmm, off to hunt down the answer.

What’s the hardest mtb race in the world!

I guess Trans Rockies, although the Cape Epic, and Conquistadors would be up there as well

Great stuff, glad its working for you.

Did Gray again tonight, backed off a little from the recommended numbers but did the first 20 @ 100 rpm, and the second @ 90, so that made it interesting.

    As did the Zondhoven race

Tights, base layer, gillet, beanie, gloves. Good to go down to minus 15 with the right gear. I tend not to run when its colder than that, if XC skiers have that as a limit then its good enough for me,(FIS limit -20 just checked)

Monark are excellent, might be able to pick one up second hand for that price but I’m not sure how common they are in the UK.

    The-Swedish-Chef

Yeah I bet it does! However I’m trying not to leave my form on the rollers at the moment, only 4 major races, including the nationals left now, so just trying to tick over.

Give it 4 weeks and I might take you up on that.

As long as they communicate using Ant+ to the head unit then the usb stick will also pick them up. Note that the sticks reads the sensors not the head unit.

So yes that stick should work.

Ooh that was some fun in the sand!

Ian Field has been making excellent progression this season so far.

Yeah his first two laps at Koppenberg were great, and the fact the bunch didn’t let him get too far is to his credit too.

    The-Swedish-Chef

Yup that’s the one I’m using, works perfectly.

Can absolutely recommend http://www.tweed-jacket.com/ had a lovely double vented, hacking pocket and ticket pocket jacket made up a few years ago.

Excellent choice of cloth, and liners, wide range of style options.

Colosseum today, thanks to muppetWrangler for the suggestion, (exactly why I started this thread), 90 relatively easy minutes whilst watching Koppenbergcross

Sorry read that as which Sufferfest films to use, clearly TrainerRoad is the choice as there are a number of training plans, the choice of sessions is almost limitless, and you can watch whatever you like whilst training.
