I got an Indesit 1600 spin which has been pretty good to date [touch wood]. Cost under £200 4 years ago

I have my own personal 20m tt route in the week and I don’t know what I think about then other than time and did I charge the batteries in my torch for long enough! Off on a sportive shortly and I will be mostly thinking about the roast I will be having at 3pm with friends and if I’m late I miss out 😯

‘I just want to see who went through is that ok?’

Didn’t realise we had to watch the entire program to find out! To be fair I don’t mind watching it when the chaff has gone

See if youcan find xcsteve on here. Hes still in Plymouth. There are a fair few local riders that aren’t on here though. You could pop into cogs or cycle scene or certini for details of locals too

I like Hollister, Superdry and A&F clothing especially shirts and polo shirts. We have outlets down my neck of the woods so it’s easily affordable and the quality is a lot better than other brands which is why I like them. I agree with Holiister being dark which is why I took my torch in there last time… got a few giggles from others and some asking if I could point it their way to see the colour of a top properly!

I doubt it is 1300lumens but its seems fine. I think it’s slightly better having a spot on the head providing the bar light is a flood. The only comlpaint I would make about that set is that the batteries get a very negative review and perhaps you should look at getting some Senybor 2400’s as well. Also make sure that the charger has a fused UK plug or at least plugs into a fused UK adapter

Just managed to get on again. Mine is saying the same. I’d like to think that they aren’t updating it that often…

It depends when you go ie out of peak times. There are super saver tickets that mean I can get from Havant to Cardiff for about £17 but then equall;y in off peak times it costs £14 to get from Havant to Winchester!!!

Its frustrating, I spent 500 on a bike for the mrs as she wanted to get into riding to help lose weight and she actually only gets results from these fad diets. So as long as she still cooks meals once in a while I support her!

Low revs letting carbon build up in the system. Put your foot down and that frees the build up. Mine used to smoke badly when I put my foot up after a week of inner city driving

I laughed in the office to which everyone else came to have a look and also laughed. Although its funny to watch fair play to them for still carrying on, I would probably wait for the broom wagon!

Since starting night riding this year I nearly ran over a slow worm which turned around to put it into the hedgerow and nearly got taken out buy a deer which also ran out in front of a car coming the other way that sh*t us both up proper I reckon! Had a bird fly through my front wheel, although felt sorry for it it was rather funny seeing feather kind of explode until I realised my shins were covered in dead bird.
Also hit a chav on way back from work years ago. He properly flew at least 4m I reckon

I never signal drivers when it is or isn’t safe to overtake, it’s just another potential liability for me if something goes wrong.

I agree but I will signal stop if someone is about to overtake and I can see a car coming the other way. Had a few near misses just recently when a car has nearly clipped my bars. Didn’t realise there was a 10mph limit though, got a dodgy bit of road not far from my house and I cane it along there for fear of holding traffic up but also getting side swiped

Had my Kinesis since 08 or 09 I think, brakes are from 01, wheels are circa 05, forks 05, and the drive is replaced yearly or as required. Gets chanegd when justified or when broken.

Downhill & street bikes on the other hand when I ahd them were a completely different story although I actually added to the collection rather than replace

That is pretty awesome to be fair. Was reading the Graeme Obree book who tells stores of touring and that got me thinking about doing at some point.

Nothing, as its cheap pikey tat.

I won’t lie I thought the same until I risked buying a coat and I have worn it loads. It’s doesn’t look bad at all and has outperformed a lot of my expensive coats so I bought another today and some gloves. I’m not too worried about what I wear but when it’s freezing outside I want to be warm and this stuff is sorting me out a treat.

Got some senybor 2400 batteries and a UK plug charger from ebayseller. As for a mount I tried an old pump mount but found two thick elastic bands were much better

Oh you’re joking! I thought it was just down Nantyffin! Gutted. Are they working up near the wet weather shed? If I can’t ride there then I’ll do Doethie but I’m quite happy with being chased!

I don’t ride very long in the evenings [1 – 1.5hrs]. Finish work at 5 and I will ride from my door so leave at 6-6.15 if I got things ready to go before I left for work. Then back for food which has hopefully been cooked for me. Unfortunately that rarely happens so didn’t eat until 8.15 last night 👿

I may be able to borrow a GPS from my brother in law and to be honest I think I would want one given the stories I’ve read over the past couple of days that people got lost in various locations. I don’t cope well with getting lost and last Sunday was no exception!!! Also don’t think endomondo would be up to the task let alone my iphone battery.

I’m more concerned about completing it rather than the 24 hours but it’s also the solitude that will get to me although I will no doubt talk to randoms on the trail as per usual except after dark when I will be talking to the darkness showing I’m not afraid of it… erm

you thought any more about this Graham? I’m going to recce it in a few weeks with the hope of building up to a double next year. By the time my fitness is built up to a decent level the trails will be claggy making a single direction hard going let alone the double so I will wait until next spring/summer when it fast and hopefully that wind has eased. I’m more concerned about making the double but if I finish in under the 24 hours then I would be well chuffed.

Out of interest one of the posts sauid that 7 people have tried the 24hours. I know Ibbet had proof that he did it in 24 hours but I would presume you can’t just go it alone and say you’ve done it in under 24 hours? Is there a formal way of doing it?

    No way – bread rocks!

    What are bread rocks?! 🙄

Used to ahev one but it was deemed unhealthy when her highness moved in. I loved it… sausages, chips, onion rings.. beautiful. Pain to keep clean now. Nowadays I only eat grain and lettuce so have no time for such things 😡

I ahve a Bose system belonging to my brother in law and hate the fact that I can’t find RRPs of things and secondhand values vary a lot on ebay for the same equipment! I don’t mind it but I was quite happy with my Cambridge Audio and Wharfedale set up before the mrs made me sell them on account of our lounge wasn’t built for them!
