There’s good cycling all over as you don’t have arsey access restrictions. 🙂

I was talking (independently) with s Belgian and a Spaniard this week, and they think we are mad..

Try asking the rest of them and you might get a different response.

    And another.
http://www.timby.co.uk/, about to build a nice big house/guest house project in Morzine too. I was looking at their showhome today, very cozy. 🙂

The show home is 125k for 110m², very nice downstairs and even had a dry room and sauna. Upstairs felt a bit cramped, but hey, it’s only used for sleeping.
EDIT: Everything is probably a cheaper version of Huf-Haus.

    A quick Google pulls this:

I’d be surprised if there wasn’t an English speaker there. I assume she can ask for an English speaker.
Even if they charge they should be able to point her in the right direction for some free help.
If not, British Embassy should be able to offer some assisstance.
    Suerte.

Taking a picture of something that is in motion is a great challenge and often comes down to a bit of luck at the end of the day. improves with practice.

For Sports you want fast auto-focus which requires wide aperture lenses (f2.8),

You can get some great shots taking advantage of the narrow depth of field, but this can also be a disadvantage too.
Rugby isn’t going to need an f2.8, look at f4 and ISO, you’ll get plenty of great shots.
Some of my favourite sports photos have been taken at slower shutter speeds.

Surely the best way is to insulate everything to buggery and then have solutions that are dynamic enough to work with the changing conditions.

The aircon might be a point,

I was joking, but in case you’re not – go for the cheapest as reducing energy consumption isn’t an issue for you.
There’s no point fitting triple glazing either if all the money saved over winter is going to be lost on A/c. 🙂
I’ve heard people say that looking at installations in terms of payback is not a good way to approach the solution.

The windows are big on the south elevation, pretty small and few elsewhere.

How much are you factoring in for an Aircon unit? 😉

The more I look, the more I think the hollow wall anchor is the type of thing I need.
    Thank you very much.

Thanks nickjb, I don’t think they will.
I’ll have to wait until I can get into Screwfix or whoever. I haven’t got a way of putting up drawings to illustrate exactly what I’m trying to do and I’m not doing so well explaining it. 🙂
Cheers for your help but there’s more important things to worry about on a Saturday night.

No tapping as it’s thin aluminium, think like ducting where I can’t leave anything in the duct but need to attach something to the outside that isn’t a permanent fixture.
I’m pretty sure there’s nothing, I can have a look at the suitability of those hollow anchors.

    Thanks all.

Something like this might work if it can be extracted as a whole.

The key is being able to remove the fixing without leaving any debris on the inside cavity.

What is in her contract though?

I would have thought that statutory obligations would override any contractual terms especially if those contractual terms are deemed unfair.

Surely donating it to poor little French kids is de rigueur and should get you a sainthood too.
