What have you come from and gone to OP? You mention frame so have you transferred existing components? What don’t you like about the geometry?

Bought some today. It will be consumed atop rice crackers with a light dusting of freshly ground pepper.

What don’t you like? Can it be fixed, like in the way the cockpit feels etc? If FS is it a shock tune issue? How many rides?

I’m awfully sorry. did I forget to post the full service history of the Peugots and MG’s I have owned. Get a life.

Early nineties Rover 200 or 400, or the MG ZR, or for the pug and old 309, 405 or citroen ZX.

Excellent list of cars to avoid. The engine might go on and on but the rest of it won’t. Source…Previous owner.

Panda would be a good option. Look for well maintained, FSH etc. Miles not a biggy if it’s been looked after.

A second vote for a Heckler here, only had a demo on one but really nice lively bike. Also Zesty? I have a retro 26 version but it’s a hoot to ride. So many 150mm bikes that are worth considering so I wouldn’t dismis over 10mm.

Never tried one but Nukeproof TR275?

Also Rose bikes have the Granite Chief. Plus others. But one thing they offer that is very attractive is customisation. You can pretty much spec it up exactly as you like.

Loads of people sell boxes for the people who want to sell an item ‘boxed’ but don’t have one.

Some folk find a boxed item more attractive.

Had mine today and failed. Puncture repair and a broken spring. New front rubber needed soon too. Oh and it’s due for a service. Will be £500 on the car this month. Urgh.

They probably would buy it but I wouldn’t expect a good deal. If you are not fussed about the price go for it. There are other similar car buying companies if you feel like shopping around.

I found thier offer really low when I was selling. I put the car on auto trader a few hundred lower than similar ones and sold it in 4 days. Still a much better deal than WBAC.

+2 for possibly a Wiggle/Upgrade misunderstanding. It’s hard to know exactly what Wiggle asked for so it may be Wiggles customer service you should be miffed at.

I would be miffed if I wasn’t consulted first though, but it sounds like coms have been pretty bad in your case.

A bit more balance…..I had a recent fork warranty on some Xfusion Slants. I went back to 18Bikes where I bought them from and they were fab. Sent them back to Upgrade. Forks were back in a couple of weeks good as new. 18Bikes were great with communication.

They were in warranty but I did also make sure I emailed 18Bikes stating I want to know if there would be a cost involved.

Any play in the wheel? Sounds like bearings but i wonder if it could be something to do with the freehub. Bike shop is the way to go. As time is a factor a new one is about £100. Or pick up a second hand one you could keep as a spare?

I think that may have something to do with it.

Thats exactly it! Everythime I shop online, even with an company that does not insist you sign up I get an email barage and have to unsubscribe.

These places are far from exclusive but for them its a great way to get lots of info without folk buying anything.

I’m no expert but as far as I know they need to be the same eye to eye and then have the same stroke length. If not you will be changing the geo of the frame.

Tom Stade is fab live. He just has great stage presence. Canadian living in UK.

Louis CK. Would love to see him but he is American and not in the UK much. Not shouty but if anyone comes remotely close to Bill Hicks I would say its Louis CK.

Today, as I was driving along through Leeds I saw cyclist in the cycling lane on my side of the road. Only she was coming right at me. I didn’t realise we could go both ways.

I see, I thought they were straight until 2011 then went tapered.

    Edit: This might help

If the frame is a straight steerer and the pikes are tapered they won’t fit.

I spotted a new and reduced 2015 one on Pink Bike. Sold by Don-Skene-cycles based in Cardiff, they have them at £1999 down from £2500.

I had a look at their website and they have the new ones in stock too. The Elite spec looks nice but at 3.5k…ouch. Think I’d go for the 2016 comp for the change in geo. The low BB on the 2015 would get on my nerves.

Personally my finger has been hovering over a Rose Granite chief. They seem to get get good reviews and for under 1800 the spec is incredible and they have a UK rep which puts my mind at ease a bit.

Scum, I’d pull the trigger if they’d let me.

    I bet you wouldn’t.

Well I suppose the only way to go forward is to get the frame to them. It’s one thing looking a pic but like you have said, 2 independent bike shops think it’s a crack so once it’s in front of them you would hope they change their assessment.

I have no idea of the age of the frame or if it is still covered by warranty, or if you are the original owner. All of which could influence their response.

I was considering another Five for the next bike, Sub Lime all the way.

Is the crack visible on the other side of the drop out? Can you remove the paint a bit to see if the frame is cracked?

I would avoid cheap Fox CTD. Climb Trail Decend. Evolotion series are the ones to avoid IIRC. If you get trail right Decend feels horrible and visa versa. I’ve had RS revevelations, Sektors and X Fusion slant as ‘ cheaper’ forks. All really good. Still using the Slants. I’m in no hurry to move back to Fox.

I use LOCO. Great service but couldn’t say if it would be cheaper. In your situation I would be looking at some new forks in a sale or maybe something from the classifieds.

A quick update regarding the wheel set being tubeless. At the same time as asking here I also email Commencal. Apparently the stock wheel sets on the bikes are not tubeless.

    Hello,

    Thanks for contacting us.
I confirm you that your rims aren’t Tubeless Ready.
The models we sell in after market are NOVATEC DIABLO which are tubeless Ready.

    Have a good day,

Thanks adsbatts89. I suppose they can be upgraded later, just didn’t fancy the extra cost for a UST wheelset straight away.

Does anyone know if the stock RIMS / Alpha 650B, 32H, 28mm wheelset is tubeless? The website seems to contradict its self.

META AM V4 ESSENTIAL PLUS 650B YELLOW 2015

    RIMS / Alpha 650B, 32H, 28mm, Non Tubeless

    META AM V4 ESSENTIAL 650B YELLOW 2015

RIMS / ALPHA 650B, 32H, 28mm, sleeved joint, Tubeless ready

In thier component section you can buy a wheelset that looks like the ones supplied on the bikes, tech specs seem to match. Again tubeless ready.

ALPHA ENDURO 650B WHEELSET 10/11V NEON YELLOW

    – Tubeless Ready

Confused face. Any owners have experiance that can shed some light on this?
