Just under half the red currently closed. Slightly contentious – probably the worst half! Never liked the traverse along next to the A3. First climb open then its road then forest track for a mile of so to pick up the rest of the loop.

Not sure if that is right anymore, as far as I can tell the FC contractors have left (To return in Sept) The orange barriers have gone and most* of the trails have been cleared. We are still trying to sort out what is going to happen to any damaged bit or bits still with debris on them. So in conclusion you can ride the full red trail but ride the bit that the FC have worked on with caution.

What’s the chances of headdown (and the bit over the back in the main park- has it got a name?Hundry) ever being made ‘official’?

That is one of our long term goal, Hundry would be slightly easier to achieve. The main issue for HD is that its is used for events (About 10 a year) if an official route went in there how would we close it for 10 weekends a year and if we did would people still ride it?

Funny you mention devils punchbowl, I was chatting with some about it the other day. We where saying it a bit of a missed opportunity at the moment. I could be good for all potential party to have a way marked trail there.
Local rider, a clear understanding of where they can ride and not get hassled by rangers.
NT: Money from parking and Café
    LBS: increase in business

It would not be hard or expensive to waymark existing trails and let a local action group maintain them.

Maybe just needs the key people to talk?

79 here. Last year there were a lot of riders at the top of the transition but I think they have tightened up the timing this time.

Yep to reduced the numbers of rides waiting at the start. Last year transition was 40mins now its 38mins. You should still have a small rest at the top/starts before you have to do your times stage.

Not really what we need when we are setting up for the enduro in 2 weeks.

Gutted for Scott as he got really bad stomach upset and was unable to race on Sunday such a shame. However, even though he missed the race, he got to do quali’s and rode the whole mega track. Chin up mate.

I will sum up my week:
    Good points
-Got to ride on the glacier in practice which I love.
-Qualifying was great fun, started at the back and over took 40+ people

    Bad points
-Train broke (11 hours in Train/tunnel/bus/Calais)
    -Rain/snowed all week
    -Had severe food poisoning
-Missed the Mega race because I could not be away from a toilet for more than 10mins.

I think I have to go back as I missed out on the whole reason for the trip.

You really don’t need 300m of elevation for a good race. UKGE is proof of that, Afan this year and Eastridge last year where ace events.

And I havevery keen to get into this for sometime now but they are all 4+ hours drive away.
Are there any races around Lonon and the south east?

Probably because hills big enough are +4 hours away…
That statement is not true. There are the hills just need the right people involved to run the events and work on developing the sites.

For example I raced a really good Mini enduro at FoD this year but all the stages had less elevation drop than stages 1 & 2 at the QECP Day and Night enduro.

That race only came about because the local mountain bikers work with the land owners over a number of years and built a level of trust.

There is a huge pool of riders/racers in the SE that want to race, one of the reasons the QECP Enduro sold out in 19 hours this year.

I know similar partnership are trying to get off the ground in other locations in the south east.

You only got to look at the DH races SE vs SW what can be achieved on a local level.

    2014 DH:
    SE 16 Races
    SW 13 Races

    2014 Enduro:
    SE 2 races
    SW 11 races

The SW has a great enduro scene it would be good if we could replicate some of that in the SE.

If not is any one interested in getting something started, perhaps a mini downhill enduro?

I also have contacts of others thinks of getting races started in the SE, if they do a SE series is possible but that is way in the futures for now. As per this year we(QECP) will be looking a 2 enduro for 2015. I did offer to QECP to Enduro 1 before but they were not interested. If you are thinking about traveling for races the UKGE ones are great and the Mini enduro series is also very good.

There are most certainly rules, though they are not written down anywhere. On this forum it appears to be anti-cool, and self congratulating, with added spelling/punctuation/grammar lessons.
    i Agreed.!
