Both wheels on in a golf! yep Mark 4 golf with cannodale prophet in it and my make has a focus he also can fit his full suss in with both wheels on.

Alternatively with the rear seats either removed on just dropped I can fit any bike (road or 29er) with just the front wheel removed.

sounds small inside. I have had a Golf and a Passat and both fit a full bike in with both wheels on.

There isn’t anything that warrants taking a DH bike there…

Yes last time I raced there I was on my DH bike

Never ever again. And they charge you £7 for the privilege of riding shite trails. Great.

Not this, It is a DH Venue with a small XC route on the side. The DH runs are really good especially at the moment because its so dry.

the “XC” at aston is the easiest of the DH runs, with a b*tch of a climb and some seriously rooty top section. the pump track is great, the bombholes are fun as is the old 4x, but even then you are looking at pushing up each time.

Could put the price up for 2015 but that’s not why we run our events.
Grassroots racing and ALL the money raised goes back in to the local trail network.

so it is possible to organise a good event, and put ALL the money to good use, which is fantastic.
i doubt that the organisers of the large mtb events put much back into the trail network. Not what I was saying. We are not the UKGE so we don’t have the same overheads. We do not have a complicated timing system and we are all volunteers. We get the chance to improve our local trails, that is our payment.

Knowing what the overheads are I would say
    1 day enduro’s £35-£45
    2 day enduro’s £60-£70
these price seam fair and its what I would be happy pay for well organised events.
I have race 5 enduro races this year from 4 different organisers I haven’t felt any where overpriced.

QECP Day & Nigh Enduro and QECP Summer Enduro are £35 each
Both sold out the summer one sold out in 17 hours.

Could put the price up for 2015 but that’s not why we run our events.

Will be doing the QECP ones next year as they’re so close to home though.

here a good report to know what to expect from your average rider:

    – X-Fusion Enduro 1 #4, Quantocks
    and
    – Red Kite Empire Cycles Enduro #3, Llanwrtyd Wells

Anyone know what these races are like?

Did 3 or 4 Enduro1’s not keen to do anymore one of the most expensive single days in the country and in my experience not the most organised affairs. However the Quantocks is a great venue.

Not done the Red Kite ones but herad really good things, plus 2 day event for the same price as the 1 day enduro1.

FoD mini enduro was good at the start of the year and I would recommend the next one.

I used to go to Rogate on my Saracen Ariel and was fine…lots of different lines but not very long, worth pushing uphill beyond the road gap to take in the top flatter section before it drops in through the trees….most people dont do this and are missing out on about a third of a run.

    100% agree.

Also Aston if its dry, rogate if its wet. Trail bike is fine for both.

The locals have been there constantly for the past month and their night rides all happened to be there this week…

    Same applies to every race/venue.
I know when we tape out the stage we always put in little bus stops and old lines that have been short cut out over the years.
Just to mess up the locals 😈

Not the cheapest one day enduro but not the most expensive. £45 for 4 laser timed stages. I am happy to pay that for a well run race, Mini Enduros are always great fun with a good selection of trails. Can’t wait for Sunday.

P.S QECP enduro’s with still be one of the cheapest in the UK in 2015.

Hmm, it’s not as high as I thought. Still, balls to that, when you’ve got a nice man with a van

We took it in turns, also rode back to Bourg from tignes:

And on the way back from Pila got dropped off at La rosierre again 😉

If anyone is going to bourg don’t just ride les arc you are missing out.

P.s I think Pila is the best place I have ever ridden.
