Great article, maybe I don’t need to scratch that 29er itch.

As above, go a size up

Interesting, might have to try these. Light bike carbon ones look good also.

That’s what I thought! Rims are clean and in good condition, work really well in the dry. Might try the swiss stop ones then, thanks.

C-cleaner is good at clearing space. The most noticeable thing to do is a clean install if you’ve still got the disk or do a fresh install with windows 7.

    What cranks are those?

As above from what I’ve read and heard it’s the new skf lower friction seals that are making the difference.
You’re correct on the trail adjust, just three compression damping settings, personally once I’ve got forks set up I hardly touch them, don’t even bother with lock-out.

Caught two people at it once, one of them would go in and start a bit of a mosh while his mate got what he could. Saw them do it to a quite a few people in a small space of time, very organised. Sorry of thing that really winds me up, people have paid for a night out and some morons ruin it.

Lovely, would never have thought of that mix of colours but it works really well.

It’s good but I still prefer rock and roll, mainly because it keeps the chain so clean. The stealth lube lasts longer though and definitely keeps the drive train quiet.

As above North Star is a nice pub with good food and booze. Next to the Red Lion there’s a great very small pizzeria called Santa Maria. If you go to Ealing Common there’s two Japanese restaurants that serve some of the best sushi in London, I’d recommend Kiraku of the two.

Been stopped a few times with my bike at Tesco and asked to leave, never had a problem in other supermarkets, banks etc. Bit annoying as you’re obviously not doing the weekly shop with your bike and it is no more intrusive than a trolley.

It will work fine, might need some slightly finer adjustment as the chain is ever so slightly narrower but it will work.

Stump up for the gunk and tape (or just use reinforced tape) and use the valves from the old tubes. That’s what I did after debating for ages whether to go tubeless, won’t go back now, rides better and for me the cost is the same compared to what I was spending on tubes.

Tried the sonos and was impressed by it but both seem a tad pricey for what they are. Do you use iTunes? If so consider an apple TV connected to an amp or TV of your choice. If you loathe itunes go for the sonos, haven’t tried any recent products from bose but have always thought their products were overrated in terms of sound quality.

As far as I know music will never garble over wifi as I assume it’s temporarily cached in the device, so it will either play or not play.

Pay your licence. Its a fraction of the cost of a sky package. You get stuff that the commercial channels would never show and the only decent radio there is.

    Agree entirely

BBC Olympic coverage online and on TV was worth the license fee alone this year

My 717 rims went up fine with just the yellow tape and some valves cut from some old inner tubes. Was on schwalbe tubeless ready tyres.

Why not 2×10? Wider range, shifts better and with the new shadow plus mechs it holds the chain better. Should be able to get a whole slx groupset for 300.

Anyone upgraded from win7 on a desktop yet? Tempted as mine is hanging on the starting windows screen occasionally.

    Leap device looks great

Really like it, screens great, battery life is short but not much worse compared to other smart phones. They’ve just released the One X+ which has pi***d me off as it’s got more memory and a larger battery, exactly what I want for it.

@gonefishin: Fair point, always seems disproportionate. Maybe we’re getting a better deal then.

@jambalaya: I liked the sound of being able to do office a bit more easily but might as well get a thin laptop or even a macbook air at those prices. Screen resolution of the surface bit of a let down too.

    Microsoft Surface pricing announced today

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2012/oct/16/microsoft-surface-price

Why do we seem to get screwed on price in this county?

Starts from $499 which is £310 converted. On sale for £399 in this country, I know there’s a difference in tax etc but we do seemed to get done over on price. iPad is the same.

Edit, we do get an extra 16GB storage for our money though. Disappointing the keyboard cover is an extra £80
