Man that sounds rubbish, I have had knee problems over the years but they pale in comparison to yours.

It sounds like you need to speak to a knee specialist to get the answers you want, hopefully someone can recommed a good one to you.

    Healing vibes

Pretty sure there is a 27.2 model, LoCo has mentioned it previously. 3″ drop rather thatn 4.5″ similar to the X-Fusion HiLo.

Pretty sure this is the web side he sent me to before when i wanted some more info on it.

Try what wwaswas said, but a local engineering/machining firm should be able to do it or atleast professionally asses wether there is enough material for a successful outcome.

Take a look round the ring that seems to be causing you problems and see if there is anything obviously wrong with the ring main (cracked/damaged socket, charred socket, wet socket etc etc). If you find nothing wrong you could try switching off the power at the fuse box and swaping the trip switch that is tripping with another of the same value to test that.

There’s a ‘gut’? What, is he really fat or something

It would appear i shold not attempt typing before i have had atleast one cup of coffee. Proof reading may have helped too 😳

do you have a gas boiler?

If you are going to change the shower it may be more practical to replace it with one plumbed into the hot water.

You will struggle to repair the tyre if the nailis at the edge, there are repairable limits on what can be done.

If you have had a slow leak previously check the rims, they could be corroded and letting air pass at the bead of the tyre (this is what is happeing on mine just now). It is easy to test – remove wheel from car, inflate tyre then spray some soapy water round the wheel and look for bubbles.

conclusion – Replace tyre you probabley wont be get it repaired if it has a nail in or near the edge but check out you rim first at it may need some work so tha the new tyre seals propery.

LoCo is the man you want to speak to about DSP stuff, i know he is one of the retailers for them but may also be the uk importer. I’m sure if you have any issues with yours he would be able to help you out and or re-tune the rebound.

There is a gut on this forum that goes by the name keasae, he runs a small company throughan ebay shop selling bearings for bikes, mainly for suspension and wheel hubs, I have used him in the past for bearings and he has helped me out alot. I have a different bike from you (Iron Horse Mk3) but the principles are generally the same with linkage driven suspension maintenance.

Below is a link to his youtube page here he has put up a number of realy usefull videos on how to replace berings and what to look out for if you think your frame may need a service.

    Hope this helps

This saturday will be extra special as my mate brought me a pudding from his uncles butchers in Lewis and he makes phenominal black pudding!
Salivating just at the thought of it now.

On a monthly basis, the only differences will be the home and contents insurance and council tax (dependant on propert value). The insurance cost probably will not be much more than just contents insurance for a rented propert though. It will however cover a far greater sum of money as you need to take into concideration all furnature, carpets, curtains, electrical goods etc in the overall insured value.

For example i used to pay £175 /year to ensligh for contents and now pay £240 for home and contents.

Ive had this Philips one for 18 months or so now with no problems, cup indicator is in cups not muggs (shocker) but you soon figure out how much water you need for a brew.

I noticed quite a difference when i changed my rims from old D521 to xm321’s think there was about 60-70g per wheel. The rolling of the wheels seemed better on the flat and uphill.

I was going to say have a read of the reviews on CRC but as the graphics have changed for the rim they have removed the old reviews. There was people that had used the 521’s out in whistler and in the alps for multiple seasons with no real trouble. The EX721 is more of a downhill rim so if you are putting it on a tril bike you may feel it a bit much.

That new pic would concern me the first ones of the lintel would not.

They look like sash and cord windows, so you may find a talented joiner that can replace the bottom bit of wood. My mum got that done on one of her windows and so far it has been fine.

One of the things i mentioned to her over christmas was about an edinburgh company doing really thin double glased units that can go in very similar wooden frame to thoes curently fitted to get round the planning constraints of a listed building. I saw them on grand designs once and it just stuck.

A quick google gives these guys as the folk from the program.

Hadn’t thought of it that way – humn, i guess you could be right. I was thinking more pulling forces when you are doing stuff but thinking bout it now you do kind of push the bike away from you rather than pull it up.

Wanders off to confuse himself further.

If the EN321 lasted 2 years you won’t go too far wrong getting the same again. If you want to save a little weight for an extra 7 or 8 quid you can get the EN521 (£33 @CRC).

Oh, if you plan on building the wheel yourself then check out rose bikes for spokes.

Ok, to the best of my knowledge this is how i’d define the headset.

1-1/8 and 1.5 inch Threadless, Campy style upper and 1.5 inch lower cartridge bearing

    TOP CUP

1 1/8 campy style (i believe this is just another way of saying Intigrated headset)

You will be able to tell if it is an Intigrated headset as the upper cup(the bit the bearing sits in) in your case it will most likely be formed into the frame and not a removable part.

    LOWER CUP

1.5 inch lower cup with reducer to take strait 1 1/8 forks, i can not tell from the pictures i have seen of the bike if the lower cup is internal or external.

Hope now do pick and mix headsets so that you can buy the correct bits for your bike. Take a look at this document that takes you through the full range of headsets they do. This will hopefully help explain what you have but please don’t take it as gospel.

    Please define

there is a wee crack in the upper section so defo another one is required

Is the crack anything like the two silver bits in middle of the pic in this for sale thread?

    That is normal.

Flip it over and re-mount it on the pad stones then get to work with that grinder again to cut some slots in the sides and back to aid air flow then crack on with painting it to keep your handy work in good nick for the next few years.

Chop chop – nothing worse than a half done job 😉

You don’t need rubber rim strips to make Stans rims run tubeless, just the yellow tape and a valve

Thought they were essentially the same thing – my bad

Will going from 17mm to 21mm be very noticeable regarding tyre profile?

There will be a visable difference in the profile of the tyre, it will be more of a square shape on the rim rather than round. As to wether you notce a difference when on the bike will depend on the pressures you run in the tyre.

druidh make a very good point. You have put that money there for good reason – to prevent you from doing things like this.

Is there any way you could scrape together enough for a cheap fender or marshal practice amp to tide you over till you can afford to save up for the one you really want?

I don’t really know anything about amps apart from these name i have seen on bands amps at gigs. My thought was everyone has to start somewhere and if you get a 2nd hand brand name/popular amp at a price you can afford now you would more than likely not loose any money on it when you came to sell it to pay for the amp you really want.

Maybe if you have some internet left you could pop up a wanted add for a cheap amp or advice on a good budget practice amp to look out for on ebay or the likes to tide you over.

No Singletrack shorts i have bought have come with a liner. Other endura shorts do though (Humve) so i makes it quite confusing especially as the singletrack shorts are advertised as clickfast compatable and others say with clckfast liner.

They are 2007/2008 Rock Shox Revelation 426’s

I have the dual air version as above but they also came in U-Turn and Air U-Turn. My ones have 130mm travel

[edit] Think you are spot on with 2010 for teh white ones too, pretty sure that was the first year they did the power bulge legs and the stickers on my 2011 ones are totally different [/edit]

Depends on the type of property you are looking at, surveys are at your own risk but home report covers more than a basic survey used to. You can sell the more detailed survey on if there are other interested parties to recoup some of the cost.

I get the impression from other posts you are looking at properties that need work where a full survey is more important, where as i have only ever bought flats that have neede more cosmetic work to get them up to scratch.

Is there nothing in the buying process that covers your expenses? As trail_rat hints at if someone had done this in Scotland it would be financial suiside as they can be held responcible for all sorts once they have officialy accepted an offer on their property.

[edit]Just re-read that and it may come accross a little harsh, i am not meaning to rub it in I’m just suprised, i’ve only ever bought property in Scotland[/edit]

When i was home at christmas my old LBS was raving on about the MyTinySun lights from here

    http://www.magicshineuk.co.uk/categories/Front-Bike-Lights

he was saying that a number of his customers have them and are very happy, I notice they also have Lupine compatable connectors which may appeal to your mate if he has batteries and stuff already.

    Morning Taff,

Hope your boiler is fixed now, thinking back i think the problem with mine was eventually put down to the new control unit being wired in wrong. This gave similar symptoms to your problem but i am guessing you have not changed the timer control unit as you were out biking when it failed.

Appologies that my first advice proved to be duff.
