They make a huge difference, bought loads of nice things for my bike this year and the reverb is the best purchase by far. Currently you can get reverb for about £180 from Germany and you will be covered under the warranty.

Got same combo and got same results, I bought 260 and 262’s but all 262 would have been ok. The spokes I bought only came in even number length’s.

Yes its a most excellent frame, especially with 140mm forks on, I chuck mine all over the trail and run it soft, bloody flies down the hills then flies back up! Best frame I have owned.

You can get complete shimano gears sets brand new of Ebay for nowt really, Friend got the 2012 XT 2×10 system for £350, they come from taiwan but are spot on as this is £200 cheaper than the UK!

Just finishing my own dream build over the course of this year and have just added the Hope Tech evo V2 brakes with 183mm rotors, these brakes are fantastic not needing much pressure from 1 finger to slow you down with no fade. I picked them up for £340 for the whole set but I know you can get the non evo set for about £300 all in. Also got some Chris King hubs built with sapim spokes and stans ZTR Crest rims, fairly light weight at 1700g but super strong/stiff and have aided my descending and cornering no end, total cost of build was £740. A friend of mine just got some 2012 Fox Talas 140mm FIT forks with the new kashima coating, tapered steerer and 15mm bolt through for £520 brand new from Israel of Ebay, can’t go wrong with them as cheapest in the UK is £740. Also got Middleburn duo cranks for £200 but a good bet would be the new XT double chainset as you can probably pick them up for £160, worth while thinking of as I went from 3×9 to 2×9 then to 2×10 and the 10 speed if definitely the best as the jump between gears is much smoother and better matched. Also get a Rockshox Reverb seat post from Germany for around £170-£190 delivered, I got mine from HIBIKE and you don’t have to worry about warranty as their is a service centre in the UK for these so all you need is your receipt. Brooks saddles (sweet) and the new easton haven carbon bars and matching stem are great bits of kit. Enjoy your build, it has felt like christmas most weeks/months this year!!

I find the muck off wet lube works really well and stays on for several rides where the finish line wet will last half a ride!

I think I would buy it just for the rear brake mount, Sweet looking frame. Really nice dull Ti finish to the frame as well.

I run cable over the bottom bracket as when riding it hovers above it and was worried about wear marks but none so far. I run continental X-kings 2.4 but I’m switching to bonty XR4 2.2 for winter. I have also heli taped up the rear in areas that may get marked by the tyres dragging mud and debris through.

Not had to change mine yet, had it since April. When I do replace them it will be replaced with tf-tuned heavy duty mount kits.

Any deals around at the moment for a full XT 2×10 gearing and cranks?

Rear end is not flexy especially if you use the 12×142 rear axle, which the transition bandit does not come equipped with. Great bike which I ride in rough and rocky terrain and it copes with it easily. Interested in what you made that little stick on guard from Leku?

    I’m running 140mm Talas

Also check out this thread especially the tripple XML cute which is the same as Trouties but cheaper because its not anodised, I also got the endurance batteries from mtbbatteries (smudge). Total cost was about £220 for a 2700ish lumen light with the most amazing spread:

You don’t! Just buy a new one as so cheap I think they are considered disposable items.

DON’T buy a fat bike! get the carbon 456 or a Yeti asr-5. Not much things are better than spending money on bikes.

I’m sure you can get little fixings to insert into the existing guides and they have a clamp to hold your continuous outer, probably from crc and maybe by Jagwire not sure though.

+1 with 3/4 altura attacks, great cut and ware really well. Have got 2 pairs after 11 months the stitching on the zip went, had a new pair within the week through warrenty so can’t fault altura.

Life-cycles will probably be cheapest, just get normal black chilli as will seal fine on rims, mine do and save loads of weight.

I started off with a 2008 Talas RL fork, its a bit like triggers broom where I have replaced the uppers to get a taper steerer for new frame, replaced lowers 2 years ago for 15mm bolt through and also paid to have the FIT RLC damper (mojo also replaced the old Talas system for this years talas system and increased travel to 140mm) Any ways I can say that when I used the forks with the FIT damper they were transformed, so much better over roots and repeated hits, tracked better, much better grip in the corners and they feel more sensitive to small bumps, completely transformed the bike. It is without a doubt a very worth while upgrade. I also put on some enduro seals which is the equivalent of having the slippery cashima coating IMO. (mine are not cashima coated stanchions) So to answer your questions…Yes and Yes and No!

Will be broken! I had to send mine to mojo and they stripped down and replaced the lock out mechanism in the top of the right leg.

Well after asking this question I didn’t listen to the advice about sizing up! ordered the size G-form recommended and the results were as mentioned, a little tight resulting in my feet feeling numb after 30mins of wearing around the house. Sent back to G-form and got the next size up and they are perfect, the pad is every so slightly big around the knee but not overly so to cause a problem, really comfy and the turn around from G-form was real quick getting them back within 48hrs from when I sent them back.

On another note does anyone know the fit of the elbow guards, is it recommended to size up? (I will listen to any advice this time!!)

I’m 5′ 10.5″ (it all counts!!) with 34″ inside leg and I ride a medium with 80mm stem and the reverb post is fully down bar about 1.5″ out of the seat tube, I do use a Brooks saddle which are quite high compared to your normal low profile saddle.

Random trails, bang opposite the car park just in the trees over the road you will see the faint start of a trail and to the left of this (about 20-30yds) is another trail which goes straight down the ditch. I prefer the 1st one as it is twisty /rooty and rocky. At the bottom you only have a short climb to the left to get to the five lords (or bin combe) descent which is in my top 2 or you can keep climbing to the hill fort descent which is a fast fun blast at the top. As people have already said the trails are endless for such a small area.
