Went coasteering for a stag-do a couple of years ago – was good fun, not enough of an adrenaline kick for me to want to do it again, but the others are talking of a return trip.

Why can’t they put a new path in for walkers and leave stuff as it is

Probly the same reason we can’t take bikes on the train – it’s not all there just for our benefit.

Tin of canellini beans with aubergine pesto for me.

Ooo, and some brocolli for pudding.

    Now that’s living!

One of my old mates has been busy down there 🙂
No idea what it’s like, but I’ll make the effort some time…

I’ve got Richey WCS that have metal inserts for bar-ends. They bend a bit on climbs though (Singlespeed grunt).

Be aware that if the max value has duplicates that^ won’t necessarily return what you’re after.

I can estimate the weight of a banana with an accuracy of better than 5% by looking at it.

So 94% of the time you get it worng?

Is there anything else similar out there?

Lots, most are marketed as 4x (often in the name) or slopestyle.

Troll Hunter – too much like The Blair Witch Project to be worth watching, very silly premise and frankly not all that great.

    REALLY enjoyed it

    Pivot sounds sensible solution.

If you *need* to do it the way you describe then you need a little macro.

If noone else volunteers it up in the next couple of days I’ll do it – busy for the next 2 evenings

jfletch, yes in v rare circumstances putting calc data the top might not be ideal, but in ratio to when it’s better to put summary calculations at the bottom of an array that changes dimensions I reckon it’s going to be at least 100:1 more appropriate at the top than not. Which I think is what bb was referring to. It’s a good rule of thumb of good practice in sheet design, whereas the alternative should only be for exceptional occasions. This isnt one of them.

Rob disagrees. Keep data discrete – on one sheet; calculations on another.

Cheers for that Martin; I am a little interested, but it looks like I could spend a whole lot of time reading up and finding out very little of actual evidence that this kind of thing isn’t a crock of shit.

I might just go for a ride instead…

Rob, it can be incredibly satisfying, rewarding, upsetting, stressful, dangerous and infuriating. That can all be in one shift.

I hear you. I’m an info analyst in the NHS and have met some frankly amazing clinicians who wonder how I do my job – it happens to suit me, hence why I do it 🙂 Many of their jobs – DNs, EOL nurses etc. would have me in a sobbing mess within a few hours.

But the pull from Australia for uk nurses is very tempting.

I met loads of ex-pat nurses in Perth! Mostly scousers for some reason?

    Band 5 point 3 increment.

One word: under paid. I’ve met too many back-office staff who are **** useless who are on more than this for contributing nothing towards the advancement of patient care – it really pisses me off!

You can’t directly compare Armstrong to Hitler and then say you’re not directly comparing them!

Yes I can – I can do what I like! If this was a Nazi controlled state, however, then I probly couldn’t. And oblivious troll threads like this one would probly be verboten too.

So, which way would YOU have it then Lemmy?

    Correct, it’s not 😆

    Godwin incoming…

You might as well say Hitler did more for the founding of the State of Israel than any individual.

This is not meant, in any way, as a direct comparison.

Oh yeah! Got a frame hanging up in the shed – it’ll be rebuilt sometime too 🙂

    Cwmcarn XC trails….

Could tell you a route up to bypass the signed route but its not tarmaced so you probably wont like it either

I’m willing to give it a try.

It was a **** joke btw! Not what I wrote – the first climb, you must really enjoy not enjoying yourself?

Cwmcarn XC trails. Not doing the new one agen til I find a route to the top that doesn’t involve the horrific mess of the somme on the way up.

    Just ridiculous!

On the other side of the valley, however, it’s aaaall good!

Do people actually have a bike to go and ‘play’ on?

Yep! As long as I’m included in “people”.

It’s not the bike that’s playful, it’s the rider.

Partly agree, partly don’t. Met someone recently who is really a great rider, but has no idea how to have fun cos he’s all about the win. He can ride a “playful” bike in a way most people can’t.

Intense M1 wouldn’t often be described as playful by the most fun-loving peoples.

    Are there jobs?

Hell yeah! Especially in community. Easyish employment from EU member states has helped fill the gaps, but recruitment is a battle.

Funk knows how people can do it as a job – I’d be in bits.
