Maybe Google Picasa? It really a photo organiser but does basic touch up stuff. Photoscape is another free piece of software that has some good features or Paint.NET but thats an advanced MS Paint really, so a little like PS Elements

Sounds like it needs a service… Mine did that, pro-pedal switch was pretty floppy, sent it off for service and nitrogen re-fill and came back great.

We’ve still not booked our Snowboarding Holiday so up for some suggestions?

Read a little of this thread and Serre Chevalier seemed to get some good reviews, last year we went to Tignes and the conditions were great, tempted to go back but would like to try somewhere new and scared that its never as good the 2nd time you visit. Had Val Thorens suggested to us, seems a little like Tignes.

Not really up for partying, I go on holiday to snowboard not drink, Like to hit the first lift, board all day and go for a good food(not posh) have a couple of drinks and back for a lazy evening in the chalet/apartment.

Up for trying Italy or Austria but would like to keep the prices similar to what you’d pay in France.

I hear from technically minded friends that pics can contain location data (if you know how to look for it), thus advertising the location of your shiny things.

True, if taken on a phone especially. However its easy to strip the EXIF data by re-saving the photo in photoshop etc.. It usually has an option to preserve EXIF or not.

Not sure its really worth worrying about if you posting a secondhand SLX shifter or something.

No easy way of chest mount. It’s what let’s down the cameras that take this form factor.

+1 We decided to get a camera a few years ago and went with the Contour as the image quality looked better at that point. However we soon realised that form factor made mounting tricky in anything else but goggle mount. GoPro have the market with quality footage and the hundreds of mounting accessories.

I’m with the cyclist, police on the whole are all hypocrites and hate it when they are in the wrong and public pull them up on it.

Do you not even get the grey screen? Have you tried connecting an external monitor?

If i’ve read that right, you want to use 400gb out of the 500gb of free space on the drive?

Grab yourself some partition software and shrink the 500gb of free space to give you the 400gb of unallocated space. Format it for OSX and when you plug it in the iMac it should ask if you want to use it for time machine. If it doesn’t goto system preferences / time machine and set it in there.

For messing with the partitions try Paragon Partition Manager in windows and disk utility or gparted for osx. Be careful what your doing tho and as always messing with partition tables carries some risk.

Safe option, just go get another external drive… pretty cheap for a 1TB drive these days that will cover your 750gb and some

I can confirm that putting a SSD in makes a huge difference. I’ve just done it for a mate and we put a crutial 500GB SSD in his i7 MacBook Pro with 8GB ram and its quick. Opens Photoshop in secs with barely a bounce on the dock.

I’ve just done Gorillia tape method on Stans Flows, it was only £2.50 for a roll which will do several more wheels. Then got some NoTubes Valves with removable cores and cut a tiny slit in the tape for the valve and pushed it through after rubbing a little sealant round the base of the valve.

Tyres went up straight away with a track pump.

I’d try Gorilla tape as its cheap if you have no luck get Stans yellow tape or a rim strip.

Use System Restore in windows and see if it has a restore point before you installed Windows 8.1, not sure if it allows rollback tho.

    or

With the laptop being that age i doubt you’ve got backup disks, it should however have a hidden backup partition.

Backup all your files, My Documents, Pictures, Videos, Music, Desktop etc…

Reboot and computer and try and get into the recovery partition, quite often its Alt-F10 but a quick google for your laptop brand should tell you.

Run a full recovery and it will wipe your laptop to how it was when you took it out the box.

+1 Snowcard… All our group had snowcard cover this year in the Alps. My mate fell off and dislocated his shoulder needed Heli rescue and a couple of x-rays etc and they covered it no issues.

As above, note down key hardware from Device Manager such as Display Adapter, Network Adapters, Sound Card, etc… Windows 7 will usually find most of these or have a generic driver but it makes it easier to get the drivers if it doesn’t. Belarc is a good shout as it will generate a report to print off.

Boot off the Windows 7 disk and choose Custom method, then delete the old partitions and select the unallocated space on the HDD and continue the installation.

Should be a simple process in all.

I have X2’s on my Zesty, have boiled them on several occasions in the Alps but they are great for normal XC riding and most UK trail centre stuff

Why not run Ubuntu in a VM on your laptop for a bit in Windows. The spec of the laptop should allow for it to run ok. That way you can try it and just delete the VM if you can’t be bothered.

Go iTunes prefs>General – at the bottom is ‘Import Settings’ – change the ‘Import Using’ to whatever mp3 setting you want – then select the tunes in iTunes select ‘Create MP3 version’.

Or do it the long way, burn to disk and re-rip with iTunes set to mp3 ripping. That way you have a backup as well.

It’ll only cost you the £129.99 if there isn’t a fault or the fault is found in your house.

To test this, find your master socket and unscrew the face plate which should reveal another normal BT socket, this is the “Test” socket. Removing this faceplate disconnects any internal extensions which may cause faults on the line.

Now plug the phone or the router into the test socket along with the microfilter, if the problem persists then generally its a BT fault somewhere. Always try new a new microfilter as well, you’ll probably have a couple lying around if you’ve swapped between suppliers and had new routers sent out etc..

How long do you calculate the Pi will run on the batteries? what batteries?

    poonprice
    Free Member

Had mine since first release but only now getting round to playing with it.

Currently making a security system to over look my bikes. It uses a PIR and the Camera Board to detect anyone messing with my bike and takes a photo which is emailed to my phone along with an instant text alert.

Also looking to play with the Pi and my dSLR to capture some nice time lapse.

I want to get another 512Mb Pi to run OpenElec to see if it can take over from my AppleTV running XBMC. I like the fact the CEC works and it reduces the remote control situation.

Not really helpful, but if using Paypal don’t leave large amounts sat in the account. They have been know to freeze accounts and it can take 90+ days to release funds.

I went to Afan last Friday and did The Wal, signage was missing in places and they had those annoying V shaped bike gates at the start and finish of every section which ruined any sort of flow round the trail.

I can understand them before entering back onto fire road but why at the start when leaving fire road. Is the rest of Afan like this, if so I won’t be going back anytime soon.
