Is this the same Jimmy D that promised to make electric cars and then abandoned the project?

Somewhere nice to go in Basingrad…!

That’s a tough one, a very very tough one. I’d prefer downtown Mogadishu tbh (or just head for Waterloo).

Mmmm, I posted a long reply but it seems to have disappeared???

    Short version =

A group of us southerners have booked a couple of cottages in Plockton.

Favoured 5 destinations = West/Northwest Scotland, Skye, Torridon, Plockton. Near mountains and sea is important.
Time of year = Flexible but April, May or June (booked May) preferred.
Glamping? = 50/50 split with us. It would need to be luxury to further the appeal, I would stay in a basic tent.
Length of stay – We are driving up so 1 week minimum for us, although we have 1 lady flying up on Friday and returning Sunday.

We are all work flexible and not overly cost conscious. No kids but most of us are dog owners and are taking our mutts. Most of us have multiple holidays every year.

I picked up a cordless disc cutter they other day. I’m quite please with it although the dust guard doesn’t work properly (I’ve contacted the manufacturer so fingers crossed).

I think that the best way for a tradesman to move away from the frontline is to stick to the trade they know best. Can you start your own business and start taking on projects yourself? Obviously your financial situation might rule this out or make things difficult.

Site management seems a thankless task to me and most site managers appear rather stressed and allegedly underpaid. Long hours, potentially a lot of travel, trying to placate customers, local residents, architects, sub contractors and your own bosses doesn’t really seem a step up to me!

    @ tjagain,

Your ‘best player’ is apparently disruptive and believes team rules don’t apply to him. He needs to grow up and become a team player or put himself forward as player/coach. IMO.

When things go Englands way, then they look good but when the opposition find a way of nullifying the England game plan, England simply don’t appear to have a plan B. Nobody on the paddock appears to offer true leadership.

I really enjoyed the Wales v France match. Best team won on the day but very entertaining for the neutral.

It is very disappointing to hear the Welsh crowd boo the kicker. And why the Welsh players kept arguing with the ref and then start fighting isn’t what you expect from the Welsh.

Having the opportunity to fully immerse oneself into a live rendition of Light My Fire (amongst others) must have been quite some experience.

It actually sounds like young Mr Russell needs to grow up a bit. Regardless or whether he believes he is right or wrong, he is a professional sportsman and should act accordingly.

Save your pennies as hard as you can because Porsche have just announced a 4.0L Cayman/Boxster GTS. It really sounds a perfect package, if somewhat pricey!

The Porsche Experience day is a fabulous day out, a couple of old racers are amongst the instructors at Silverstone and they are very knowledgeable. The skid pan really tests you reflexes and is great fun. Recommend your mate goes if he hasn’t been before.

All the bet to them. I like Megan as she has a rescue dog.

I know little or have much time for the aforementioned couple but if the above comment regarding Megan having a rescue dog is true then I wish them all the very best.

Are you a member of a union? If so, get a union rep to accompany you.

I hope the goes well but I’d be looking at the early retirement option.

I think a problematic rat infestation is rather different than a load of baying toffs getting off on hounds ripping a fox apart. Of course, you are welcome to disagree.

I keep hearing from TV politicians and commentators that when quizzed on their doorsteps, folk just didn’t like or trust Jeremy.

You can blame whatever you like but the Labour leadership needs to accept they are responsible for this mess. If the Exit Poll is accurate obviously.

Binners, I t’s hard to argue with that! Well said.

If the Exit Poll is to be believed then it’s a total and utter rejection of Corbyn and Momentum.

I never expected such a huge potential tory majority, it’s not even close to my preferred minority government or hung parliament.

    Quite depressing really.

Individuals unfurl a provocative anti Corbyn banner at a pro Corbyn rally and provoke a reaction shocker.

Some people (on both sides) are thick/uninformed/angry/gobby. Again, shocker. Moving on.

I feel racism should be called out wherever it is, whether that is Islamophobia in the torys, Anti Semitism in Labour or general racism in the BNP/EDL/UKIP/Brexit party.

IMO simply “moving on” is unacceptable and legitimises this kind of behaviour. A modern, forward thinking Britain has no place for such ideology.

A minority of Jeremy Corbyn supporters at his final rally got rather unpleasant.

I’m in the process of upgrading my power tools and I’m very impressed with the new Dewalt XR 18/54 volt range. FFX Tools has had some smashing deals recently, so worth a look.

I quite often say I’m Welsh these days rather from the UK.
It saves awkward conversations about how rediculous and racist the English are.

There is nothing quite like a lazy generalisation to demonstrate your blatant racist views.

Corbyn has the smoking gun. The contents of that unredacted report are utterly outrageous (assuming the précis I have read is true) and run directly contra to promises Johnson has made.

This should be enough to unite people against Johnson, it really should.

Jezza has the means now, right now. He has to make this count, publicly, repeatedly and loudly. Make damned sure that Johnson has to answer questions about this document and how it runs contra to his assurances.

    This ^^^^

If Labour can’t use this to totally undermine de Pfeffel then they should just give up. Maybe Labour released it a bit early in the campaign but at least it deflects away Jeremys terrible performance on Andrew Neils interview.

Hopefully Andrew Neil will grill Boris about this a bit, I’m sure he’ll make Blohard look a bit more stupid and untrustworthy than Labour have done so far.

I’m sure I read on STW recently that if a black person finds comments directed towards them offensive and racist, then a white person hasn’t really got the right to tell them they are wrong to find those comments offensive and racist. Does that apply to the people that have been victims of the alleged and perceived offensive abuse and threats thrown at them by Labour Party members?

I had a C43 coupe and I liked it a lot. It was good car, very functional, drove well enough and was reasonably brisk. The 4 wheel drive gave me plenty of confidence in the wet/damp/cold. It did feel heavy and that is why I got rid of it in the end. The crabbing was an irritation, nothing more and if I was looking to transport my mutt in style and quickly, the estate version would be on my list.

I have Sonos and I’ve been adding bits and pieces over the last few years, so I now have quite a collection. And that’s the problem, a Sonos addiction becomes very expensive! I have been very happy with mine and it has worked well but I found my set up only became great when I introduced the rather expensive sub.

I’m no audiophile but my Sonos set up sounds great and I would happily recommend Sonos.

Arbosil 1096. Prepare the surface (clean, dry and grease free) as per the instructions and you cant go wrong. I think Arbo are the only sealant company to give a 12 year guarantee.

If you take a good walk round most cities in Europe (including the U.K.) there are now serious issues with homelessness, worker exploitation and people living in poverty.

Accelerating the flow of people will simply make this worse

I’m sorry Rob but your comment is comes across as a terrible generalisation and is completely erroneous. Go and spend some time with homeless people and immigration is not the problem. Ending all immigration will never end homelessness in any shape or form.

IMO, to counter faarange’s cowardly refusal to stand candidates in tory strongholds, Labour need to join with the SNP/LibDem/PC/Green alliance. Labour stand little chance of beating Blohard without TBP splitting the tory vote. Jeremy needs to swallow his pride or else Blohard will return with a majority and force his style of Brexit on us all plus a tory government for the next decade or more. Time for a reality check for Labour and Jeremy.

Mooman, that’s a good review of Canelo v Kov.

I watched it yesterday and I thought Canelo was never overly troubled and stuck to his game plan. A very powerful punching display when Canelo hit Kov to end the fight. Although tainted by previous drug issues, I don’t think anyone can question Canelo’s boxing credentials.

I’ll take a look at the Inoue fight and if you haven’t already, I would recommend taking a look at Daniel Dubois. I think he has a stellar career ahead of him.
