I’m an average climber and even on a tiny little featherweight carbon bike I’d still be an average climber, my bike was bought as it is an average climber but amaze balls downhill, just like me 🙂

The only times I’ve ever had an issue when on footpaths I have been challenged by southerners visiting, is the footpath issue bigger down south than up north? got stopped in the peaks, guy from London area visiting. stopped in lakes, guy from Kent.
    never get stopped by locals.

Yes, no difference, other than a higher BB

I don’t feel that there is a noticeable difference between 26 and 27.5 but as discussed on our club ride Saturday the step up to 29 is very noticeable.

You need to remove the washers on the saints and then they are lovely and grippy.

I currently ride a 650b Banshee Rune. There is no difference at all.

The new ones come with the connectormijig, you should get a double ended thing to help route the cable through the frame holes as it’s easier to disconnect the pushlock end

£100 extra per year home and away for mine. policy states they must be secured but doesn’t stipulate what with, although I have a massive amount of security.

What’s the chances of all the e2 entries coming available? I’d be in my van in a shot.

Jimmy, have you had the new bike?

I used the 29mm stuff, it was good but no where near as good quality as the stans tape I have.

I have a partner crew cab. 5 seats in total and with wheels off and being creative you can get 5 bikes plus kit in. The seats all split so you can get 3 bikes with just front wheels off and 3 people easy.

my CCDB air is superb, if you discount the fact its being warrenty repaired as I type this 😀 the inline will be brilliant but if you can’t swap you won’t be disappointed.

my 2014 Fox 34’s are great, feel brilliant, don’t dive and just look great with the kashima stancions but ….. the pikes are almost £500 cheaper.

the performance is supposed to be the same but you have a big oil reservoir our on the CCDB air so in effect it should be better when it comes to long hard descents than the inline.

26″ slime tube is fine. You can get 26″ tubes with removable cores but I’ve never heard of people chucking stans in

    @Cloudnine

yep Pepper spray comment is true bought it from Germany, tends to be advertised as “dog attack repellent”

I know all about the consequences of using it but it’s more effective than a baseball bat. I’ve been a victim of a rather violent burglary where a bat made little difference and I was “advised” that pepper spray is a solution that will incapacitate multiple people from a distance of 5 meters.

Ultimately if they want your bike they will find a way but it’s about making it tricky for them. what I have done is:

    1. shed alarm that sounds in the house
    2. I’ve built a metal frame that the bike sits and is then locked in by removable posts, these have steel mesh over them meaning that the whole lot has to be cut off not just a section.
    3. fitted a kitchen worktop on top of the frame to let me store stuff above it so more chance of making noise and also prevents access from above the bike.
    4. massive chain, and lock going into a ground anchor.

the shed sits on a concrete base so the frame is rawl bolted into this and its all welded, the shed could fall down but the frame would stand independently.

So they have to cut the frame and remove the posts before they can get access to the chain and lock then they have to work on that, all the time my alarm is going off and I’m putting shorts on and getting the pepper spray from my cupboard 😀

It is mate, sent it off yesterday, I’ve taken this chance to re route my stealth dropper so it goes all the way into the seat tube. word of warning it’s 426mm from top of the seat tube to the stealth cable entry point.

A lot of the people just went straight up the fire road towards moor top, the more intelligent ones went up the side of the black towards start of stage 1 and instead of a left turn they went straight on. turn right at the next jct and you@re back on the route to stage 2 but you have just cut the bottom off.

I agree about completing the whole route if it was timed but this wasn’t so you could have a 30 minute rest at each end if you wanted.

But it would of been reported stolen to Lancashire Police I would assume. If it is then a crime reference number would be available.

Bourbons, what I don’t understand is why report the bike stolen when he still has it, elaborate insurance fraud?

Yeah it’s very strange but he has left a current mobile number for those he ripped off.

1 stage is the last section of the NFT but all the rest look pretty good, stage 3 looks like a killer, Descent off Carron Crag, on to the black, small sprint then down footpath to visitor center.
