    Sorry, I missed that.

If you go through a boss, I can’t imagine the routing would be very nice.

Ideally, for the cable run, you will need to cut a slot not just drill a hole, and you need to be concerned about weakening the frame, not just the paintwork.

    Have a look here:

I don’t think you can get any stealth post in that size.

Have a search on ebay for “Waterproof aluminium card wallet”

I bought one to carry bank card, some cash and medication, thought it would be junk but worth a £3 gamble. It’s actually pretty good, not submersible, but weather proof. The catch will pop open if you over fill it, I put an elastic band round it and the rubber helps to grip it in your pocket too.

House key on a lanyard, I don’t have a car so ride from home.

You can get small bags from Alpkit, (Fuel cell, Stem cell) to carry these bits on the bike.

    Is three enough for you?

And sort out your tyre logos and the mech on that Stanton.

You could fix some car mirrors to your handle bars, just make sure they have this label –

“Objects in mirror are closer than they appear”

I’m sure it will stay on if it’s a size too small.

That kind of attitude is not going to protect you from either the fundamentalists or the illuminati.

To date, no conclusive proof exists to show that this letter was ever written. Nevertheless, the letter is widely quoted and the topic of much discussion.

“You can’t get a pint in a half pint pot”

If it’s too tight now, don’t wait until you are chugging up a climb in it to think about sending it back.

If Christians are the so called followers of JC then surely only the New testament applies !

You seem to have forgotten who JCs dad is.

The basic idea is the same for Jews, Christians and Muslims, just different ideas of who was a messiah and who was a naughty boy.

Religion has no place in the future.

I think you have given yourself a bit of a scare and are now in a negative feedback loop.

You will not have remembered the whole of any journey before, it’s only now that you have put yourself under the microscope that this seems unusual.

Best to avoid calls when driving, but I’m sure you know that. Change your phone settings, as above, take more breaks and return calls then.

Maybe think about a change of jobs with less mileage? A change is as good as something or other…………

That is unique, I have never seen a mental custom cruiser like that, with forward geometry too.

However it also makes me think I’m probably supposed to biscuit joint them also (which makes sense to keep them level). Is it a big deal if I don’t? Otherwise it might have to wait and see if I end up getting a jointer for some other stuff anyhow…

Just get a biscuit cutter for your router, will come with different size bearings to cover all sizes.

I don’t like the look of the new XTR so I’ll stick with my SLX.

I just put a little blob of teflon grease into the outer end before fitting the ferule as an extra weather seal.

how is an 80 quid seatpost any better than a 30 quid ritchey one ?

I’m willing to pay a bit extra for one where the clamp works and the diameter is true.

I think Thomson have proved that their aesthetic design department is staffed by a blind dog.

    Your photos are broken.

Sounds like you have a splined “Octolink” BB. You need to have a larger diameter head on the tool so it does not go down the centre of the spindle.

    Park Tool Blue Book

You need to either get a new tool or an adaptor.

The three nearest LBSs to me all have pretty poor attitudes in my experience. I will travel past the big chains to order special parts from the one shop where they don’t mind providing a decent service, but their stock is mostly not what I’m looking for. I don’t see any other solution than ordering online, with the cheaper price and with plenty of time.

Ride it local first, if you find you need a higher range, put the 30T on the shelf for the trips away.

If you need to change rings see if the chain will need to be longer then.

    Enjoy the ride.

Get a new hand saw, cheapo will be fine for one cut.

If you feel the need to use the jigsaw, use a new blade and either cut it from the underside (you could end up with a “feature” edge) or score the cut line with a stanley knife to reduce cracking.

You want to lock off the cone and nut on the drive side, and then the cone disappears into the freehub.

On the non drive side you can get to both cone and nut. So if you have gone over tight then back off the cone against the lock nut to free it up.

So you can play with the tension by having the spanners both on one side or on either side.

The Cane Creek finder will need you to give an angle.

42mm should be Campagnolo standard 45/45.

You could make some gauges cut out of card or from a drink can.

If you have bearings of the same diameter, you could try to test with engineers blue, or even a marker pen. Coat the bearing race chamfer with ink, fit into the seat and see if you get a complete fit or just a partial mark, either inside or outside of headtube shoulder.

SLX have ceramic pistons so a little bit lighter, I think that’s it apart from the finish.

Good performance and low maintenance, can’t go far wrong with either option.

You can just chuck some new lads in, but it’s best to check your old lads for brake fluid contamination, or spray lube, fork oil or uneven wear, anything else that can point out a problem before it gets worse.
Clean your discs to make sure any crap on there doesn’t contaminate your brand new lads.

Not great brakes in the wet are the norm though?

You should have good performance even with some noise, you can get squeals in the wet, depends on the material Superstar Kevlar were the worst for me. Give your discs a good clean, as above, and fit new pads, check for any obvious contamination on the old ones.

3Nm is roughly about how tight you can go using the short arm of an allen key with the long arm in the screw head, unless you are a gorilla.
