I think you’ll have more success on the owner of the stones using the “Mountain not fit for purpose” clause.

I thought the last Speed series went the same way, by the last program all he did was turn up and ride. I guess he either has too much on or too little time.

I bet he doesn’t spend much time on forums moaning about other people.

    Top job, top job.

I was working on the house this morning. My next door neighbour came out, got in his Audi estate, came back 10 minutes later from tescos with half a bag of shopping. He’s probably around 30 and seems perfectly fit and healthy.

    What’s the problem I hear you say…………

Well I can see the Tesco sign from the top of the ladder, you can walk there in 2 minutes through the small park, you need to go 4 times the distance if you drive as you have to drive around the park.

Crash and burn, bring it on.

You’ll need to go bigger than 1mm, it will just block up, 3mm or 1/8″ is more suitable.

I don’t really trust anything off of a production line 100%.

I’ve got some, and like them, no big deal to repack.

Hello Sam, sorry to hear that.

As above, I was redirected to the “med” site when searching for “Singular Peregrine” on Google/Chrome, but not when going to your home page first, you’re update shows there. Maybe something to do with the cached page? (Pure speculation on my part.)

Google/Chrome search results still come up as in Jamie’s screen grab, above, but the links do go through to your site, not the dodgy one.

Hope you get this sorted soon, best. Neil.

I prefer vertical bike storage, as in the photo above, for easy access. You can top’n’tail them so that the bars don’t clash.

Spare frames and wheels can be hung above head height if you have the space. If it’s a pitch roof, maybe board out for storage.

Shelves for kit and spare parts.

Work bench in front of window with tool storage underneath.

    Folding workstand.

What about security. Anchor point for bikes. Bars on window and a solid door, maybe alarm system?

Keep them in a safe place, maybe a bank?

Don’t keep them in the house as someone might steal them both together.

Although this is a very telling snippet that we seem to have glossed over:

“Overwhelming percentages of Muslims in many countries want Islamic law (sharia) to be the official law of the land, according to a worldwide survey by the Pew Research Center. But many supporters of sharia say it should apply only to their country’s Muslim population“[/quote]

I don’t see how it can be the law of the land but only apply to some.

    Which raises even more questions:

So are the non-muslims allowed to break sharia laws without penalty?
What system would cover a dispute between a muslim and a non-muslim?

The first was a redirect searching for Singular Peregrine specifically, after posting on this thread:

as the OP was talking about changing wheels from 26 to 700c.

Cage length is determined by cassette range (total tooth difference of the drivetrain), road short cage mech will work with 30T or 32T sprocket, most MTB short cage will work with 36T or larger. You will need to double check STI shifter compatibility for drop bars, as Northwind said above.

Will 1 x 10 be ok with middleburn uno?

There’s 0.2mm difference on the internal width between a 9 and 10 speed chain. So may or may not fit, but a new ring from Middleburn would be 10 speed compatible, not sure if they do a thick/thin version.

What’s wrong with the Alfine, surely a better choice for the winter, depending where you ride.

Is it Fernox LS-X, a clear moisture cure silicone that is used as an external leak sealer? Will be slightly flexible to the touch, just like silicone sealant.

Approach it with a calm head, assess how many joints need access and what work will be required.

And to do that we’d have to import most of the materials from China or South Africa.

Plus increase energy production for the manufacture processes, and carbon capture technology to match the greenhouse gas emission targets that we have agreed to in the West.

In the long term, radical readjustment is going to have to happen. So shoud it happen in a manged way where we can all re-adjust, or should we just wait for the crash and burn?

It should but it probably won’t. The radical readjustment needs to start at a personal level, which is why the “crash and burn” is much more likely.

Yes, but all of those things simply make transit slower than with oil powered ships, which means it’s commerically unattractive.

Sure, the first two are the reasons of the bean counters, personally I’m all for sail transport. However the aerofoil rigged ship could actually increase fuel consumption and both, including the kite version, could compromise safety of the vessel.

From the wikipedia entry, Emma Maersk:

She is powered by a Wärtsilä-Sulzer 14RTFLEX96-C engine, the world’s largest single diesel unit, weighing 2,300 tonnes and capable of 109,000 horsepower (81 MW) when burning 3,600 US gallons (14,000 l)[33] of heavy fuel oil per hour. At economical speed, fuel consumption is 0.260 bs/hp·hour (1,660 gal/hour).[34] She has features to lower environmental damage, including exhaust heat recovery and cogeneration.[35] Some of the exhaust gases are returned to the engine to improve economy and lower emissions,[36] and some are passed through a steam generator which then powers a Peter Brotherhood steam turbine and electrical generators. This creates an electrical output of 8.5 MW,[37] equivalent to about 12% of the main engine power output. Some of this steam is used directly as shipboard heat.[38] Five diesel generators together produce 20.8 MW,[37] giving a total electric output of 29 MW.[28] Two 9 MW electric motors power the main propeller shaft.

EDIT: The electric motors seem to be secondary power units in case of main engine failure.

And yet many folk will tell you that a Pertex shell is a softshell jacket. Packable, breathable, windproof, water-resistant….

But there are so many versions of Pertex now (10 from a quick search), it seems they are stuck with their own “the one material to do it all” label which is now a bit out of date.

Why wasn’t it successful? To slow to compete with oil, or maybe the ships couldn’t be big enough thereby pushing costs higher?

    There’s a few reasons.

From trade under sail alone, the favourable winds are often not the shortest routes from A to B.

    Increased construction costs.

Standing rigging, masts and aerofoils are efficient in average conditions but also create large amounts of drag when low wind speed and increased windage and top heavy in high wind conditions. Anything with a kite requires material technology that is not fully developed and constant management.

Also no transferrable roles between bulk carriers, tankers and container ships.

The last point is something that would be an easier solution for rail and road transport, as an alternative to lots of empty vehicles travelling at any one time.

I think the problem is “Softshell” seems to cover a number different types of jacket/material.

I like Pertex, my most used jacket is a Montano Dyno, i guess they didn’t sell that well as they are no longer made. Just a single skin that’s windproof and very breathable but has some water resistance, as long as you top up the DWR fairly frequently.

I also have a Marmot Softshell for colder days, thin fleece layer inner with very light wind/water resistant layer on the outside.

The ones that list “stretch” material as a feature tend to be a bit thicker and more fleece like. They also seem to be a more “athletic” cut too, which then rules out layering up underneath.

As above, most 4x frames are more for pure fun, thrash about, rather than out on the trails, you might find a Charge Blender would be okay.

BMX and pump tracks are more fun with SS setup, so maybe look for something with slot dropouts and a hanger, or swapouts. The Stanton is nice but you might have more fun with a BMX, which you can drop it without worrying about scuffing it up or smashing up levers and shifters.

I have a Dialled Holeshot and ran it with U-turn Pikes for a little while, but it’s supposed to be 120mm maximum travel, and rides better like this.

Christmas isn’t pagan; the Victorians invented Christmas along with Scottishness and quite a lot of other mawkish sentimental carp.
