I had the same ‘issues’ with my RP23 on my LTc, spoke to MOJO who did a shock tune and it felt alltogether better, and this only cost £30!

I’m faced with the same dilema, I have 819’s (which as someone else has said weight in at around 510g per rim) and I was looking at dropping right down to a stans crest. I think I could get away with that rim but I just can’t be bothered with the hassel, that and I like the little extra security the 819’s give.

However if you are trying to loose weight off the bike, thats the place that will have the most effect, not just purely in weight terms but in what you can ‘feel’ out on the trail.

    Matt,

yes its a multi lap event, laps range from around 4k to max 6k. Our events are a great way to ‘try your hand’ at racing, give it a go you won’t be dissappointed ;)

We could ask GT if we could drive up to the start of the spooky descent

This could be pretty awesome as there’s a few different runs down :)

stumpyjon whilst I agree with you almost entirely the car park revenue from say, Llandegla will be waaaaay more than that, even places like Whinnlatter and Grizedale will exceed that by some margin. I don’t mind paying, but £9 a day is past that tipping point for me.

    £9 for Dalby?

Is it?!?!?!?!? It was £7 last time I went! Look, I’m the first to knock people that park on verges and such like, but at £9 a day and there’s only me in the car i’ll be parking somewhere else

Why all the angst? I don’t get it? I just look at it that she’s a good looking (all be it a bit pretentous but I like that, read into that what you will) lass that holds a bit more of my attention by cooking nice food. Or am I just being shallow? ;)

I like her food and the way she’s enthusiastic about it. But being totally honest I think she’s really hot too, definitley a good looking girl

Can I just add my two-penth? If you’re riding in the peaks quite a bit (like I do) then I think the tyres you mention are a little on the small size. The older Maxxis tyres were smaller in volume.

The ADvantage in 2.25 would be my choice. I actually ride the 2.4 on the front and a 2.25 Ardent on the rear (in winter its either swampthings or just another ADvantage on the back but in 2.25 guise) but I like bigger tyres.

The extra volume not only provides a little more grip but gives an extra bit of cussioning :)

    Just my opinion though :)

this is a new race format and i’m more than willing to be there while the problems are worked out. Yes it’s frustrating but it will get sorted.

I’m really looking forward to the Hamsterly event. Think this could be something that I have a go at the whole series with. I used to really enjoy doing a whole dh series as a junior, you got to know a lot of regular faces and I made some good friends. Hoping this should be the same!

What an amazing ride yesterday! Why don’t I get to the peaks more?! 30 miles in and around Ladybower with some unbleiveable decents that would rival many alpine decents. All bone dry, rocky and fast.

Think I’ve got my mojo back :)

Maxxis ADvantage 2.25 folding, light, excellent grip, low rolling resistance and (relitively) cheap. Maybe a Maxxis Larsen TT on the back for the summer

A Ti frame with only a two year warranty? that’s incredibly poor. I would be sending an email to Cove/Lynski too expressing your dissappointment.

don’t understand why people park on the roadside, if you don’t want to pay, park at the bottom of the hill don’t cause an obstruction

Talking up the risks and presenting potential new entrants to the sport with competitors in storm-trooper gear might serve to discourage them from wanting to get involved…

This is exactly my point, at present I don’t own a full face so it more a question of if I should purchase one. I’ve been riding quite a long time, i’ve got the scars to prove it but was just wondering the type of thing I was entering. I too was under the impression that it was trail centre ‘type’ trails.

I have a Contour HD, I think it’s a great piece of kit butr then again I did get it for a steal off amazon. I can’t remember exactly how much but it was around £100. It is a bit annoying that you have to wait to see your days footage on a pc but I can live with that. The Contour unit itself is a neat little unit, i’m pleased with mine.

I lusted after the Specialized FSR SWorks Palmer replica DH bike in the 90’s and got one a season or two after it was launched, wasn’t in his troy lee colours though. Never really got on with it, the wheelbase was absolutely massive and the front end too low. Loved it to look at but we just didn’t get on.
