Has anyone mentioned Primal Scram? Did they start in the 80's or am I in the wrong decade?

Not sure about the skills area or pump track, sounds good! Apparently the new trail is a blue run and it crosses some of the better "unofficial" trials. I hope it's not easier than the existing "red" run 😥

tails – if you have the chance go! Not all employers hate travelling types if you convinvce them on your return you're not going to go off and do it again next year! At 26 I was generally abusing my body but working and saving when I could. Jacked it all in to go travelling when I was 32, best life experience ever, it changed the way I think and (I think) made me a better person. I've not met anyone who has travelled and regretted it and I have met quite a few who have gone travelling and not made it home but made themselves a life elsewhere. You'll regret it later if you don't go

Hilarious thread. Is anyone really taking the pistonhead trollers seriously? They must be cyclists enjoying winding people up or Clarkson's sent us a few trolls over. I HATE riding on the road and only ever do so if it's to link a route or cross it (unless the mud is too deep to pedal through in our local woods and I need to rdie my bike)
It seems a more than tiny percentage of car drivers are blind, self opinionated, selfish co*ks who need to learn to consider others. And people cazy enough to share the roads with these nutters? Roadies are mad!

Yep, she also rides an Apollo firechief, £2 from the tip – it weighs more than my hardtail!! She has a £70 Puky scootybike but seems to have lost interest since she can pedal which is fine as my 2 year old boy has just started showing an interest in it
She is getting an Islabike as soon as she grows another 1-2cm (and we can afford it)

Hi Don Simon. A slap is a physical attack. Fact, no escaping it. I'm not twisting your words, read my comments. Although you are twisting mine, where do I mention murder?????!!!!
I agree unruly children are a pain in the a** although I would never slap / attack someone else's children, I would speak to the parents (admittedly that is often futile)
Also I wasn't having a go at dog's, I don't own one but many of my family and friends do. I found strange you seemed to be threatening to hospitalise people if they were to attack your dog yet you would slap a child for the same offence. If I misunderstood fair enough. And fair play to keeping your dog on a lead, irresposible owners don't help the general attitude towards dogs. I've never met a parent stupid enough to allow their child to play with a dangerous dog that is on a lead after being warned not to go near but hey we live in a strange world so I guess they exist. I guess based on your comments about children you are trolling or don't have any.

Dom Simon. As I read it you threaten to physically attack people's children if they run around in a public place yet hospitalise anyone who may attack your dog in the same situation, then get upset when people call you names?? If I have misunderstood your post please go ahead and explain as based on your initial post I tend to agree with the others!

My daughter got bitten by a friends dog in Spain last year, it has taken her a long time not to freak out whenever a dog came near her. I have freinds with dogs who themselves have little ones so "safe" however I would NEVER leave my young children unattended with a dog. My grandmother had a lovely retreiver, I loved her but once she bit me as I fell on her when we were playing, natural reaction on her part and it didn't stop my relationshjip with her.

to the idiot who say's Akita's have a decent temperamant.
Torminalis I know your dog and I would trust him with my kids. (but only if I was there)
Some dogs are bad, some owners are bad, that is life. Some dogs are good but if you fall on them or catch them by suprise they may still bite as a reaction

Met Joe Strummer in the loo's at the 100 Club, seemed nice but I only said "hello, great gig, s**t it's hot in there" I was a bit gobsmacked / speechless (even though it was his gig) as he was always my favourite musician since around 1979 when I was 13 years old.

Great thread. Mr Nutt is it real? Where are you? I want to come and be an allotment guard at your place when I'm next on holiday, it'll be worth the time off! How much do you value your allotment? If not too much just go over and TRASH EVERYTHING in your, then in his, ideally whilst he's watching

No pic but I have one, great bike, love it, mine is last years so not sure of current options but unless you're a real weight weenie go for the coil shock, I demo'd the air version, my LBS persuaded me coil is better and it is sooo much plusher! And looks 10x better! Dark blue with shiny gold bits looks nice as well 🙂

I have just seen this article and thought I would see if this debate is still going on – it is so take this!!!
Surely a great way to run our cars and stop methane which (I believe) is one of the worst pollutants although not sure how practical it is in reality – I bet someone here knows though 😉

Hi BBB, the event sounds really good ( bikes, ale festival and good for family:-) )and I have seen it mentioned on here before. I have 2 kids (1 & 3 years old) and I have the week off work. Do you know if we can come down in our camper for the week? Are there local trails? I guess I should contact Avon Tyrrell tomorrow………..

I have a bad lower back. Ride an FS and HT. The FS is ALWAYS easier on my back. FS is single pivot (Heckler) for minimum maintenance as I am rubbish!

thanks neil853, that's what worries me – the idea seems great and people who use them love them but I'm thinking maybe waiting and seeing what else hits the market as I hear so many stories of them malfunctioning. No good 2Pure being helpful if the product isn't up tot he job. Apparently the joplin 4 has better sealing and is strngthened to reduce the slack

Our local farmshop does a 1.3kg bag of broken biscuits. £3. And they are top quality, lots of chocs and creams. I hope it's a one off job lot as their sell by date is end August. We bought them as they were cheap but at the rate they get eaten we are spending a lot of money on biscuits.

"Go and see a physio not some quack pedalling snake oil and lucky charms"
peteimpreza – ever been to a chiropractor?
My wife had major problems with SPD when she was pregnant – chirpractor fixed it after doc said he coiuldn't help. I had had a bad shoulder for years, however as the fees were £27 for 15 minutes there was no way I was going to go – several physio's had failed to fix it what could this guy do? After being persuaded by my wife to go by way of a free initial treatment (and several further paid ones) my shoulder is fixed. No trouble for over a year now. I still go to the "wallet manipulator" every so often as he has also helped no end with my dodgy back

My last post on this subject as we obviously disagree and we are now onto societies ills. Drugs don't make those "kids" want to do those things, society, their situation and being who they are does, they might do drugs they might not. In my opinion that's a very silly comment.
I recognise some of your viewpoint as I don't want to encourage criminals. Unfortunatley every single one of us does contribute to criminality directly or indirectly, knowing or unknowing almost every day and drugs are part of that.
    P.S I have read MBUK 🙂

Hmm, interesting thread. Just been out to the garage to clean my bike from last nights ride and had a little smoke that I know has in no way contributed to any form of criminality except me being one for smoking it 😆
Grittyshaker – have I done wrong?
Done coke in the past but no more, enjoyed it but seen it wreck peoples lives – usually people who have "addictive personalities"
Most of my friends now don't smoke as they "grew out" of it. I still do as I enjoy it with a glass of wine ocassionally (apart from it makes me slower on the climbs!)
Terrible that I have to contact criminals or commit a crime to get a smoke. Legalise it.
