Try an RF choke on the 12v power lead to the speakers. If that doesn’t work try a ground loop isolator to rule that out. I’ll bet it’s the ground that’s causing the hum. You could try a better earth for the speakers.

Seen it, loved it. I’m sure people will say they are stupid, etc, etc. Yes they are, but it’s still quite amazing. I noticed Lucas raced a Lamborghini through NY the other week.. I think you all know who won!

We have a Microwave with Oven & Grill here at work. The oven feature is pretty much only used, it cooks better than my home oven!

130i? Comes in 5 or 3 door, 3 Litre straight 6 engine, rear wheel drive. Engine loves to be revved, and did I mention rear wheel drive. You can get a bike in the back, with both wheels off, or stick it on the roof. Oh and you don’t need to use your indicators and can just drive like a cock all the time.

I’ve seen some as low as 3.5k. I would also look at the RX-8, but you can’t get a bike inside and I’m not sure if they do a roof rack.

NASA shutdown their feeds all the time when you see what could be UFO’s. Why would they shutdown the feed if it wasn’t UFO’s? I think there are Aliens, why wouldn’t there be?

Yea I wear a Tin Foil hat…. all the time.

Apart from the detour, that’s the right route! Didn’t you go to the summit, though?

I could say my phone/strava was in my bag and I left my bag with everyone else while I went to the top…I’ll tell the truth, I was going to, but there was a 30 minute queue to get to the top, I shit you not!! 8O

I could not believe how busy it was and now see why proper walkers stay clear of Snowdon.

It depends on what you are doing.. If using Premiere then a GFX Card with CUDA cores will make a big difference as you can render in real time.

You are also going to need another HD as a minimum. Don’t get any Eco crap, WD Red drives are what you will need. Personally I don’t use USB Drives unless backing up, unsure if USB 3 uses processor time anymore.

A laptop will be slower once it gets heatsoak, which won’t take long which will start slowing the CPU down to cool it down.

Laptop < 20 seconds (I’ve timed it before )
I have previously got to Chrome in under 10 seconds, but Laptop needs a re-install.
Home PC < 15 seconds (I’ve timed it before )
Work PC, which includes typing password and network stuff, 38.65 seconds

Having grown up in a world where you were out of communication from leaving the house until you see a phone box I’m currently listening to streaming music while heading to cruising altitude and still online.

    Is the future here?
You’re not in Wales then.

2 miles from our town centre and you have no signal. Am I the only that thinks the most useful time to have phone signal is in the countryside where you might not see anyone for hours. It’s crazy that they are pushing 4G, we have 4G but no signal a few miles from the centre.

They still work 2+ years after a lot of heavy use and don’t slow down as much. Hardware doesn’t screw up and if it does the replacements are free or very cheap.

Isn’t this the same as my £500 Fiesta does everything I want, why would I pay £12k for a 2nd hand car.

Personally I cannot ride at 4mph, I always end up at >9mph, where the puppy is doing a trot. It’s the repeat action that causes problems, yes they run around like a loon for 30 minutes, but not in a continuous straight line.

I knew a guy who had a puppy and would always ride around the local woods at a snails pace with his puppy on a lead. The puppy was good as gold, always a loose lead and loved it. At 2 years old it walked/ran, well it crabbed along like an old classic mini. I haven’t seen the dog or the owner in a couple of years, we believe it was put down due to the problems. :(

6 months is too young to do any riding at all with a puppy. I would also not be running with a 6 month puppy either, yes they love it and can go on and on, but they will have hip problems later down the line.

I would get the basics nailed first. Stopping on command even when chasing something, walking to heal, recall, etc. Basically go and get your Bronze, Silver & Gold Citizen Award, then your puppy should be ready for biking. Recall & stopping on a Whistle might be helpful too.

I would say 2 walks of 40m ins a day for a 6 month is too much, but I do not know anything about the Irish Terrier.

So to sum up, go to the local dog training group, get the basics/foundations laid. Make sure you find a good one.

Another vote for the Autobrite Snow Foam Lance. Well impressed. I have heard good things about the Valet Pro Citrus pre-wash, not tried it though.

wash my new car as it seems like they are a better option than the age old bucket and sponge

You still need to use a bucket and sponge, but don’t use a sponge, use a wash mitt and make sure you have grit guards in your buckets. Snow Foam is only a pre-wash, which helps reduce swirl marks from a wash mitt. It also helps by soaking ground in dirt, making it come off easily when washing. I Snow Foam, then while its doing its thing, fill up buckets, etc.

I use the 2 bucket method, oh and a third for the wheels. Separate wash mitts for washing and wheels, microfibre towels for drying. This all gets washed after each wash.

I would suggest Detailing World Forum, but you might end up down the rabbit hole of car cleaning.

I remember when I was a kid we had 3 cats, then we got a dog and the cats would not come in. Eventually we got the cats in and decided to shut them all in the same room. After a tense afternoon, they then realised there was nothing to be scared of.

I’m not saying this is the right thing to do, but it worked.

What is XC these days, does that mean you peddle up? Or does it mean no jumping and drops? Or does it mean you do it all, but with a seat post/saddle hitting your ass? Those XC WC riders are pretty full on.

Squamish, Northshore & Pemberton you have to cycle up and they are well worth a visit. If you don’t want to ride Northshore, don’t go to Northshore

There are some great trails around Whistler that require a fair amount of peddling, but they are mainly Red n Black, thats a Whistler Red n Black BTW, which is like our Black & Double Black.

Easily dooable under £200, as above you will need a loom adapter and probably another one for the steering wheel controls.

Autoleads are the people who make the looms, you can find out which ones you need here[/url].

You are probably best popping to Halfords and checking out the stereos, its a personal choice. I would probably stick to single DIN and stay away from anything Chinese, loads of features, not much usability.

It is all plug and pray, you can easily do it yourself.

You can get a 130i for £3-£4k, it might not be an amazing spec, but it’s still a 3 Litre straight 6 in something that is not much bigger than a Fiesta.

Something like Sikaflex, Tigerseal and some 3M insulation tape around the outside. I think the heatshrink idea is probably the best idea.

Yea it was recent.. Just like Santa Cruz and Lappiere frames cracking, recent. There are not many manufacturers who haven’t had Carbon frame issues.

I’ve dealt with Evil in Spain and they pretty much bent over backwards to help me out. They realised their customer service was shit, so they have improved it, just like YT did.

After seeing what a few riders were putting their Wreckonings through at Whistler I decided I need not worry.

20-30 seconds sounds like a ridiculous margin for error. And I can’t see how one device would do that consistently – surely even if you get over the finish line “quicker” due to noise, you’re going to go over the “start” line earlier too.

The start is in the open, the finish is in the trees though. GPS doesn’t consistently offset your position, it can be 10+ metres in any direction. It could start you 10m behind the start line and finish 10m after the finish, or vice versa.

+1 > It would be great if they had an accuracy indicator.

This isn’t a tale, more a frustration. I have a friend who is Strava mad.. So I follow him on some sections and he ends up being 10-30 seconds faster than me.. Strange, as he didn’t leave me behind.

On holiday, he was bragging about his times, so we hit the trails. I left a 20 seconds gap, before catching him up and buzzing his rear wheel for the rest of the section.. Again he was 20 seconds faster than me…

I worked out that the iPhone has shitty GPS, so it shows you being at the bottom, when really you’re not. I was using a Garmin Edge, which was a lot more accurate. I would say most of the time the iPhone shortened the section , there were only a couple of times that I have noticed Garmin being faster than the iPhone.

Just to annoy him I turned on my iPhone, rode the trail and ended up 20/30 seconds faster than him, which is 40-60 seconds quicker.

Stick with the iPhone for super quick times, Garmin for super accurate.

Snow foam adds an extra step to cleaning your car, but it does help reduce the amount of scratches/swirls, by helping loosen the dirt. You can do this step then get your buckets and stuff ready. You will have to buy snow foam and a proper lance.

Nilfisk are decent pressure washers and cheap, Argos had a deal on last week for £99 which comes with attachments, patio and wheel cleaner, they also have a metal impeller, I think its only the Karcher K4 and above that have metal ones.

The thinking behind the bottom to top cleaning method is to do with washing the snow foam off the car. If you start rinsing the foam off from the bottom, if you get interrupted, you can clearly see where you stopped. Doing top down you can do the roof only and it looks like you rinsed the whole car.

2 bucket method with grit guards! It is a lot of effort and I have probably spent £300 in the last 2 months on washing/detailing supplies. I think I would’ve preferred to drive around in a dirty car and have it professionally detailed a couple of times in the year!

I think it took my an hour just to wash and dry my car, it was my first time tho and I did more fannying about than anything.

All the £5-£20 washers that I have seen use one bucket and the water is black… Step away from the car!

It’s the radio electrics that are really driving me nuts at the moment. One last crack at that tonight then I’ll probably sack that off as a bad job.

What’s wrong with the Anker Bluetooth speaker? We use a BT speaker as the car doesn’t have front speakers, rears just rattle and the SQ of the BT is better than the fitted stereo!

I use a RFID blocker in my wallet, I remember reading an article where someone setup a card reading device and was able to log over 100 card an hour in a busy park, this was a few years ago.

If in London, I would be worried, they no longer need to touch your wallet to get your money, but again this has been going on for years.

Call me a tin foil hat wearer if you like, but isn’t that like saying pick pocketing isn’t real. RFID hacking has been going on for many years now, it’s just easier to secure yourself than keep up to date with the new hacking techniques. These days it’s even easier, as it’s quite easy to disguise your true identity when setting up as a merchant.

As someone above said, disable the RFID and use your iPhone, at least it requires a fingerprint as well.

Nail Varnish if you are feeling brave.. I’ve done it a few times, with 1800 wet n dry, used wet. Do a search, I’m pretty sure I’ve talked about how to do this in another thread. The hardest bit is having the balls to sand down the nail varnish, take your time, use loads of water and it will be fine.

A car can be insured when it’s SORNed (i.e. has no MOT).
Though SORN, it has to be kept off road.
Correct. I was responding to the assertion that it couldn’t be insured without a current MOT. I guess some of the context is being lost in all the cut-and-pasting

This is what I thought!
If you pay monthly on your car tax, then if your MOT has passed, your tax will not be renewed. Must make sure you don’t forget when the MOT runs out!
